Hi there.. I am in the exact same boat... Took the Nuva ring out Had a period as scheduled and then decided to stop using the Ring altogether due to its side effect. Now I have been off the Ring for over a month and a bit.. and am scheduled to get my period... and it is a no show.. Are missed periods after stopping the nuvaring a common side effect?

You wait the 7 days and put another nuvaring in. You'll only have a period if the hormone level is low enough, some people lose periods altogether on the nuvaring.

The question is a little confusing... You left it in for the 4 weeks so that you could skip 1 months withdrawal period. Then you took it out for 1 week to have the withdrawal period at the beginning of the next session. Did you reinsert a new ring after the 1st week of the new session? If you did not reinsert the ring after the period that you mentioned and you have had unprotected sex your period may be late because you are pregnant. A NuvaRing needs to be refrigerated if it won't be used within four months. If you're talking about a ring that you'll be using later that night, it doesn't need to go in the refrigerator. If you're taking it out to have sex, please reconsider; it's so easy to forget to reinsert it an put yourself at risk of pregnancy.

It can never hurt to be safe. If you have access to the plan B and cannot get in touch with your doctor, then take it to be safe. Having unprotected sex is not advised, even when you are using the NuvaRing, as it does not protect against STDs.

It is not bad to take out the Nuva Ring mid cycle. The only real risk is a little more unscheduled bleeding during the following two weeks, and, of course, the risk of unintended pregnancy.

Hi, No you can't double up now as its too late. Your BC pills will not of been working effectively when you missed a pill and if you had unprotected sex during this time there is a 2% chance of conception occurring.

Yes, if you are keeping it for over four months it def needs to stay in the fridge. It can also be kept at room temperature (77 degrees). I have been on the nuva ring for about a year now and i always keep them in the fridge until the day i insert it, and i havent had any problems yet.
