There's nothing wrong with dating as a teenager. People date, have sex (casual or not) fall in love, break up, get their feelings hurt, but without lasting damage.

Many adults find it difficult to deal with one or more of those circumstances; teens who have less life experience and and intellectual resources are left even worse off in how to deal with them. This is especially true when they feel, for whatever reasons, they cannot confide in their family (and not all families are loving and supportive).

People have mixed results when using online dating sites. It really depends on a number of factors including the personality of the person using a site, how aggressive they are seeking out dates/partners, the type of person they are looking for and what specifically they are looking for in a relationship. Some people are able to hook up immediately with people they like, while others try for years to cyberdate successfully.

Another factor to consider is the site itself. Is it built to allow communication and engagement with others? Does it allow multiple pictures and expanded profiles? There are many niche dating sites out there that are very effective (i.e. emo dating sites, Christian dating sites).

To help understand the answer, we need to know the definition of effective. Are dating sites effective for meeting new people? Yes. Are they effective for setting up dates? Yes. Are they effective for finding your partner to marry? Depends completely on the user.

really? this one is the easy, there are really old guys who just love to go on dating sites (teen), or worse there are people who are not to good on other dating sites (18+), the cut throats or terrorists who are out there not very often, but sometimes, BUT not even someone who wants to kill you, is not as bad or scary as the many rapists. Of course im not trying to tell you that online dating is bad, but you should be carful, DON'T meet offline, unless you are 100% sure the persons what they say they are. One way is exchanging phone numbers, Try to get his/hers first, and tell them youll call them, then block your number, if they are what they say, then give them your phone number, maybe e-mail a little, then maybe meet offline. If they ARE NOT what they say they are, then hang up the phone, report them to the online dating service and forget about them. If you are under 18, and your going on some kind of teen dating site like espin.com, you should keep the relationship completely ONLINE, maybe after a few months, call them or something small, but even at 17 you should have a parent, gurdian, friend, or some type of defense (aka, mace, or kung fu lessons) just in case something goes wrong.

I am in a long distance relationship right now and i now know everything about my parter. Before I discovered my husband's affair, I had noticed a lot of change from him. He met a woman on a dating site, who's' waiting for her divorce papers to be finalize. They exchange emails, then they met face to face. After that he start calling her every day even on a weekend. even when he takes our son to the games. He do manage to make an excuse so he can call her. Talking on the phone, exchanging email wasn't enough for him so he started to visit her at work, ( she works at night ). I'm talking about like a high school boy that found his dream girl. Visiting her at work becomes his routine and the next move he did was after teaching at night he will stop at her home so they can be together alone.
