I can't say that it was enough to reach the desired effect, but since I could not find an answer, I had to start small. Next try will be 30. Regardless, yes, it is possible.

do not take dilaudid for morphine withdrawals.this is ascenine..U will simply start your detox over being how dilaudid is 4 to 5 times stronger than morphine accroding to mgs. It will stop your withdrawals and when that pill has worn off you will be in worse shape than you started. Dilaudid is just as or more addictive than morphine.Hope this helps.hang in there I'm on day 4 of morphine withdrawals myself...just hang tight i know it sux but you can do it..

Depending on the type of test that is being given the answer is generally yes. Prescription opiates are ultimately all some form of morphine derivative meaning that the drug will contain alkaloids from the poppy plant and will metabolize in the body the same way. Most standard five panel "dip stick" drug tests look for the presence of morphine in the urine and since all opiates are derived from the drug morphine the test would pick up on it.
The only exception to this would be the opioid class of drugs such as ultram / tramadol, suboxone, oxycodone and other "synthetics". This is because opioid drugs are "synthetically" created to attach themselves to the same receptors in the brain and to some degree or another have a similar chemical structure but because they are "man made" and not derived directly from the poppy plant they would not break down metabolically in the body the same way and thus would not be detected as an opiate on a standard five panel "dip stick" test.
Opioids are however easily detectable in the urine if the test that is being administered is designed to look for them specifically but they would not show up as an opiate, they would show up as an opioid.

Rephrase of my original question: I think morphine, heroin, and opium are all opiates derived from poppies. What I am trying to determine is whether it is feasible to think about converting growers of poppies in Afghanistan, who currently sell to purveyors of illegal drugs, to a legal agricultural crop that supplies worldwide opiate (raw material) to pharmaceutical companies who serve legal drug markets (doctors/hospitals, etc).
