Is Oxycodone 15 mg IMM rel same as oxycotton?
No. What you have is immediate release oxycodone. Oxycontin is no different of a substance. The only difference is that Oxycontin is a brand name of the drug, and is controlled released. The generic name for Oxycontin is oxycodone HCL the HCL (hydrochloride) means it releases the medicine slowly into your system over a span of usually 12 hours. That is why people snort, or inject oxycodone as opposed to taking it orally like you are supposed to, so that all the medicine is released into your system.

Technically they are the same thing...
"Technically they are the same thing..."
>>>Not really true. Oxycodone is the drug itself, yes. Oxycontin is a time-release version of the medication. If you look at two medications, one oxycodone and one Oxycontin, then you are looking at an immediate-release pill and a time-release pill. Be very careful with these drugs. Taking too many can make you very, very sick, and Oxycontin should NEVER be crushed or broken.
Is it safe to take 30mg morphine sulfate you took a 30 mg Oxycontin before and it was to strong?
If you took any pain killer and it was too strong do not take any more medication the same day. Check with your physician before taking any prescription medication. Just because the milligrams are the same does not mean the drugs are equivalent to each other and have the same therapeutic affect in the body.
Why do you feel more high on suboxone than Oxycontin?
Well, it is obviously different for you than it is most people. I have been taking Suboxone for a year, and I certainly do not get high from it. I am at 8 mg per day. I never feel high from it. I don't know anyone who feels high from Suboxone.
The first day I took it I felt good, but I am pretty sure that is only because I was in withdrawal before I took it and it got me well.........it definitely did not feel anything like Oxy's.
So, all I can say to you is enjoy it........LOL! I am a little jealous, actually.....(I know that's sick, but it's the nature of the beast I guess).

Will taking vitiams help with the withdrawals from coming off of Oxycontin?
Vitamins will certainly help with the malnutrition you usually get if you've been abusing drugs. It won't really help the shakiness, nausea, diarrhea, etc - your doctor can give you some medicine to help, and can help you cut down on the Oxycontin every day in a safer fashion so that you don't have so many withdrawal symptoms! Good luck with the healthy new lifestyle!

Why does Oxycontin cause shallow breathing and is that dangerous does it cause migraines as well?
Answer:
Oxycontin is an extended release form of oxycodone, which is a synthetic opiate. It is a narcotic used to relieve pain.
Opiates act as a depressant on the system, which includes slowing down a person's respiration rate. When a person overdoses on a narcotic, death is usually caused by difficulty breathing.
When oxycontin is taken as prescribed (and if a person does not have an adverse reaction), it is not dangerous.
When people take oxycontin incorrectly (ie, crushing, snorting, etc) or add additional substances which are also depressants (alcohol, anti-anxiety medications such as Ativan or Xanax, other opiates such as Vicodin), those people are engaging in dangerous, and possibly life-threatening, behavior.
Sometimes people can have headaches after having been on opiates called rebound headaches. Rebound headaches are not migraines.
Can a doctor see patients while on morphine and oxycodone?
As the Adminstrator for a Medical practice I will tell you the LEGAL answer and then the PRACTICAL Answer:
LEGAL ANSWER:
So long as the Physician avows that his or her judgment is clear and un-impaired, he or she can, in many states and jurisdictions, continue to practice medicine and examine patients.
PRACTICAL ANSWER:
If you KNOW your Physician is taking morphine, a morphine-like drug or OxyCodone type drugs because he or she TOLD you-- consider the fact that the Doctor TOLD you of his/her own free will. And if they told WHY or for what they are taking the drug and you are comfortable with the reason (ie: pain releif from pain from cancer) then decide for yourself whether you continue to trust this person and whether you still feel comfortable with this person.
If you KNOW your physician is taking drugs of ANY kind and they did nOT tell you, but you see CLEAR evidence of impairment or unsettling behavior, then you should worry about Impaired Judgment. And if there is a risk of impaired judgment or the doctor's behavior makes you uncomfortable, trust your gut feeling and seek another physician and request your records to the new practice.

Do you get a buzz or get high from the Fentanyl patch like you do when you take Oxycontin?
Not after the first couple of weeks when you get used to the dose. Unlike OxyContin, patch doses are much more steady, and there's no steep dropoff in dosage level like there is with OxyContin as the drug wears off. Essentially, you feel pretty normal, just no pain.

Where are adh and Oxycontin synthesized?
The posterior pituitary also known as the neurohypophysis contains nerve endings of tracts that originate in the hypothalamus. The two "nuclei" that supply these tracts are the Paraventricular and Supraoptic. The primary secretion of the paraventricular nucleus is OXYTOCIN. The primary secretion of the supraoptic nucleus is ADH also known as Vasopressin. Even though these nuclei have a "primary" secretion, each nucleus can synthesize approximately 1/6th of the other hormone that is not it's primary secretion. The best way to remember is the acronym POSA(paraventricular-oxytocin/supraoptic...
Source:Textbook of Medical Physiology, GuytonWhen you snort Oxycontin does it go into your stomach?
The answer is yes! When you snort oxy and catch what we call a "drip" it does go into your stomach. That's part of the reason some people become sick, like nauseated. Most of the dope stays in your nasal cavity though.
Dear Swelling,
I am not a nurse nor a doctor but I have taken several medical classes. According to my education, when the menstrual cycle approaches and occurs the body is retaining excessive amounts of fluid (hence the reason for many PMS pills that control water weight gain and bloating)it is almost like the body is dehydrated and holds excess fluid to compensate. So this is definitely a normal side affect but the extent of your problem may question the issue of seeing your physician.

Why does Oxycontin cause epilepsy?
It can affect the brain, and anything that disrupts the working of the brain can cause seizures. Having seizures is only a possible side effect and so it does not happen to everyone. If someone already gets seizures they are not meant to take oxycontin. Epilepsy is classified as a tendency to have recurring seizures. So even if someone took oxycontin and had one seizure, they would not be diagnosed as having epilepsy. Anyone can have a seizure in their lifetime at some point, but it is only people that have lots of them that are diagnosed as having epilepsy. So if taking oxycontin caused someone to have a seizure and then they never had one again, they would not have epilepsy and so saying that oxycontin can cause epilepsy is not really accurate. It is more accurate to say that it can cause seizures.
