Which layer of the atmosphere does not absorb solar radiation?
Troposphere does not absorb solar radiation. All other layers do not absorb.
What have they done to reduce CFC effects?
To reduce CFC effects, countries have implemented the Montreal Protocol which aims to phase out the production and consumption of ozone-depleting substances, including CFCs. Additionally, industries have switched to alternative chemicals that do not harm the ozone layer. Awareness campaigns and strict regulations have also helped in reducing the use of products containing CFCs.
Why didn't scientist know before the 1880s the role that ozone plays in the atmosphere?
Scientists didn't knew ozone layer before 1880. It is because of lack of technology at that time.
The ozone is depleted but not yet dead. It is depleted at some places.
What is The middle layer of the sun's atmosphere.?
The chromosphere is the middle layer of the sun's atmosphere.
Does the ozone layer thin during winter months?
The ozone layer this during winters. It is due to the increase in depletion at low temperature.
What is ozone UV rays to reach the earth?
Ozone layer is situated in the stratosphere. It does not allow UV rays to enter.
The ozone layer in the stratosphere absorbs and filters out a significant portion of the dangerous ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. This shielding effect helps protect Earth's organisms from the harmful effects of UV radiation, such as skin cancer and genetic mutations. Human activities that deplete the ozone layer, such as using certain chemicals like chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), can increase the amount of harmful UV radiation reaching the Earth's surface.
Which planet has a ozone layer?
Ozone layer is a pool of ozone molecules presnt in the atmosphere. Earth is till now the only known planet to have the ozone layer.
Why is congress in the US so important?
It is the Branch of the US Government that most directly represents the will of the goverened.
Hole in the ozone layer is found?
The hole in the ozone layer refers to a region of depleted ozone concentrations in the stratosphere. It is primarily caused by the release of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and other ozone-depleting substances into the atmosphere. The ozone layer plays a crucial role in protecting life on Earth by absorbing the majority of the sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation. Efforts to reduce CFC emissions have led to a gradual recovery of the ozone layer in recent years.
An ozone sink is a process or substance that removes ozone from the atmosphere. This can include reactions with pollutants, aerosols, or surfaces that deplete ozone molecules. Ozone sinks play a role in maintaining the balance of ozone in the Earth's atmosphere.
What protects the Earth by absorbing harmful?
Ozone layer protects the earth. It protects us from UV rays.
What human made chemical damages the ozone layer?
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and other halogenated ozone depleting substances (ODS) are mainly responsible for man-made chemical ozone depletion.
Does the troposphere contain almost all of the atmosphere mass?
indeed it does. each successive layer contains less and less gas. (the last layer is almost like outer space actually) so yes the troposhere contains almost all atmospheric gas
ozone is the layer of the atmosphere where the ultraviolet rays of the sun are blocked because ultra violet rays of the sun when the skin too much exposed to it cause skin cancer.

What is the Global Warming Potential for ozone?
Ozone depletion can cause global warming. It is due to the plankton death.
How is ground-level ozone and smog related?
Ground level smog and ozone are related with each other. They both act as pollutants at ground level.
why do Coastal communities often experience milder winters and cooler summers than further inland
Where is Ozone depletion greatest?
In the atmosphere.
See "Why is an ozone hole formed only above Antarctica and not over developed countries that emit a lot of CFCs?"
What effect does the ozone's absorption of ultraviolet radiation have on the stratosphere?
The ozone absorbs the UV rays. These UV rays are very much harmful for life on earth. Thus ozone protects us from these fatal rays.
Ozone detection is to detect levels of ozone. It measures the quantity in ozone layer.
That's pure bunk. Global warming may be a natural occurance as has happened before but if we can stop it and save our lives and/or the lives of our progeny, shouldn't we? The hole in the ozone layer cannot close itself up. It is not made up of replicating cells. Your friend is mislead. Christian viewpoint has nothing to do with it.
Another AnswerOk, first of all, the hole in the ozone layer has nothing to do with global warming. That is a completely separate environmentalist whacko doomsday story. One that was disproved years ago when it was discovered that (contrary to what the above contributor says) ozone does replenish itself. Also, though it may be true that the hole does not completely close up (as far as we know it has always been there), its size does increase and decrease over time, in a pattern that has nothing to do with human emissions of cholor-flouro-carbons. Another factor that contributed to the demise of the ozone hole scare was the fact that one small volcanic eruption pumps more chloro-flouro-carbons into the atmosphere than every freon-based air conditioner or refrigerator, styrofoam food container, and can of hair spray ever made by mankind.
As for global warming, there is no monolithic "Christian view" on the issue. There are some churches that have taken it on as an issue, putting forth the notion that God appointed mankind as "stewards" of the earth, and therefore we are obligated to protect the environment. And I cannot argue with God's word on this issue. However, the science behind the global warming scare is dubious at best, so it is not at all certain that efforts by churches to "stop global warming" are consistent with mankind's duty to be stewards of the earth. But, even if anthropogenic global warming is not a myth, God gave us a whole bunch of other commandments, many of which are in direct contradiction to the efforts made by churches to stop global warming.
For example, God also commanded us to be "fishers of men", an analogy for spreading the Word of God to all the people of the earth, in other words, being missionaries. But if we are to spread the Word of God to foreign nations, that will require air travel. But air travel produces carbon dioxide, which, according to alarmist theory, causes global warming. So, if a church is serious about stopping global warming, it must give up its missionary activities. That will not please God
Another commandment from God is to "be fruitful and multiply", in other words, have a lot of children. But many global warming alarmists point to population increase as one of the chief culprits behind global warming. These alarmists would like to establish world-wide population reduction measures (like birth control). If Christians go along with this, they are very clearly violating God's commandment to be fruitful and multiply. (Of course, most Christians don't take this commandment very seriously anyway. Only the Catholic Church even still preaches it, and most Catholics use some form of birth control. But the fact that most Christians ignore this commandment doesn't mean that God has changed his mind on the issue. The Bible still says "be fruitful and multiply".)
But here's the most important thing. A true Christian will do everything in his power to make sure that no person on earth is lacking for food, clothing, or shelter - the basic necessities of life. If the world undertakes measures to stop global warming, the very first thing that will have to be done is eliminate (or at least drastically cut) the burning of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are absolutely necessary for modern agricultural production. Without them, we would have about 1/10 of the food production that we currently have. There simply is not enough arable land on the entire planet to feed the world with non-fossil-fuel-based production practices. Even if everyone was living on a subsistence diet, over half of the world's population would starve to death. This most assuredly will not please God.
On the other end of the spectrum from those Christians who believe we have a God-given duty to stop global warming, are the Christians who think that the world as we know it will not survive long enough for it to be an issue anyway. The Bible prophecies that one day, all the Christians will just disappear (not die, but disappear) off the face of the planet and ascend to heaven (this is called the Rapture). This will be the beginning of the end of the world. Seven years of trials and tribulations at the hands of the Anti-Christ will ensue. Wars, plagues, famines, natural disasters, and other calamities will befall the remaining people of the earth until only a small fraction of the population remains. Rest assured that no one will be worried about a few tenths of a degree increase in temperature with all this stuff going on. And at the end of the seven years, Jesus will return to earth and establish the kingdom of Heaven ON EARTH. And if you believe that Jesus is all-powerful, then surely it is not beyond his power to cool down the planet a few tenths of a degree. The point is, many Christians believe that these events are right around the corner. In fact, one interpretation of the Bible is that the establishment of a Jewish state in Israel is the beginning of the end, and that happened over 60 years ago. These Christians, if they thought about global warming at all, would be convinced that 95% or more of the earth's population will be either raptured or killed long before global warming becomes a serious issue. So what is the point of doing anything about it?
I am not saying that I agree with that last scenario, merely that many Christians do believe it, and have an attitude about global warming that is consistent with that belief. As for my own views:
As a thinking man, I believe that anthropogenic global warming is a complete hoax. I believe that global warming, if it is happening at all, is the result of completely natural climate cycles, cycles that will reverse themselves long before the planet gets "too hot" (and may have already reversed themselves). I believe that whatever we attempt to do to stop global warming will be doomed to failure and may even make matters worse. I believe that, even if we could stop global warming, the cost of doing so, in terms of economic prosperity, and even in terms of human lives, will far outweigh the benefits of doing so (or the cost of not doing so).
As a Christian, I believe that God's commandment to be "stewards of the earth" does not include forsaking all the other, more important, commandments that God has given us on the basis of a scientifically-dubious doomsday scenario promulgated by envionmentalist whackos, communists, power-hungry politicians, and a liberal news media.
But I don't speak for all Christians. And that is the answer to your question. There is no concensus among Christians, one way or the other, about global warming. (For the record, there's no such concensus among scientists either, despite what Al Gore says.)
