How scary is paranormal activity the movie?
Actually, pretty scary! I'm an avid horror movie watcher for the last 24 years, and on a scale of 1 to 10 w/ 10 being terrifying, I'll give it a 8.5.
While watching the movie, I wasn't really scared but the rest of the audience screamed more than in any other movie I've seen so far. But, by the time I got home and had time to think about it, I was really pretty terrified. I think the reason is that the low budget effects come off very subtle and almost more realistic than those in many big budget flicks. This is the kind of stuff that could happen in anyone was home.
If you're a weenie when it comes to the spooky stuff, stay home! But if you like stories about poltergeists and demonic activity, definitely see it. It's kinda like a more modern Blair Witch but much, much better. The movie does start slow, and most of the daylight scenes are unmemorable, but watch for the night surveillance footage in the bedroom.
Definitely not for children! Has a good Ouija board scene. My own Ouija board has been hidden away for many years due to unrelated events, but this reminded me that it should stay put away, possibly forever...

Honestly, the first time you watch it its unbreaably scary, but the second time its kinda, well, snore! The first time you watch it, you have to have the right setting for it to be scary.

No, they are not true stories. They are just thrillers set up to make you think it was footage that was recorded and found. When really it was just the low budget that made them go with something cheap. Like having the actors film the whole thing in the directors house. This however is why people think the movie is a real story.

This movie is about a couple who live in a house together, and they experience paranormal activity. In the movie the girlfriend does get possesed sometimes, but nothing to scary. Lights go off and on in the night and they hear weird noises and Mica, the boyfriend recordes everything that happens. They call priests and people to help them but no one can. Its a great movie, and i would recommend it.

Well, if your talking about loud noises that come out of the blue and freaky foot steps. Then hopefully I can answer this question. Now the only reason why your son is scared is that in his brain he has a vivid memory of the movie so he knows what happened and knows how it could happen in his home, once people are scared like that they might see things from the corner of their eye or in front of them in which they rarely see because if you live close to things with electricity it could send beams to the brain in which makes him see this stuff.so when your son say's he saw something you'll now understand. Now to answer your question, I would say something like this There are strange things in this world that you'll one day understand, Paranormal activity is just a movie don't think about it because if you do you will get more scared. Now for the sound s just tell him that its wood adjusting constantly or things in your home getting tighter. Plus theres pipes and stuff that could make freaky sound which give you water.
