Doubtful. Seeing as they're both money hungry companies, I'm pretty sure they won't let you buy from one and bring it to another provider to use. I'm having the same problem. Verizon has no phones that stand up to the Rumor. If your looking for a full keyboard you're going to have to go with a blackberry or possibly the env2. Stay away from the LG Voyager!!

Mobile phone 'codes' no longer have any reference to the service provider. Since the deregulation of the phone system, people can transfer their number from one network to another - rendering the old 'grouping' irrelevant !

Try codes for LG. 0178 worked for me.

if your fairly close to her, invite her somewhere. movies, beach, friends house, party, any thing where she has to call you to find out where you are. Be her contact to whatever is going down that you are doing.

Not a lot of people use T-Mobile because atat has the iPhone and Verizon has the Droid. These 2 cell phones are the most popular phones right now. However, atat's phone reception is very poor right now so basically people only choose atat for the iPhone.

Such codes are generated by the universal remote manufacturer rather than the TV manufacturer. As such, the actual codes will differ from one remote to another. Regretfully, Olevia TV's (for the most part) use proprietary infrared frequencies. This means that the code for another TV brand will not work with Olevia TV's. Nobody reports this as being potentially successful, and members of Tracphone discussion groups are unaware of this workaround.

In reality, TF chaingangs the SIM to that phone and the provider they choose in that locality, by zip code. SIM swaps, porting, even transfer of minutes and air time usually involve inputting codes into the phone given by Customer Service, and the first level of Customer Service usually follows a scripted pattern which too often does not resolve all the issues. If you have more than 1100 minutes to move, it will have to be elevated to another supervisory level.

TF does this because the phones are so inexpensive that resellers could basically purchase a significant number and then jailbreak them, eliminating their future profit selling their airtime. In most cases, the phones aren't leading edge technology - usually old models from manufacturers that are middle of the road in features. Buying a new one is cheaper than investing the average wage in hours it takes to get it done.

For example, a $40 purchase will get you a Double Minutes For Life phone, under $20, and a $19.99, 60 minute, 90 day airtime card. Combined with the start up minutes and time, you net 140 minutes, and 150 days air time. Tracphone leases airtime from ALL the major providers, Tracphone users rarely hang on long enough while moving to transition from one to another. It's a pay as you go phone service, not an unlimited plan. Treated that way, it's quite successful.

Considering the huge difference in service and models available, there really is no point in jailbreaking a Tracphone. It's like stealing an old used Yugo, it's practically it's own punishment.

If you want to check if you have Verizon Fios availability. You can go to Verizon on the internet and type in your phone number or your current address and state and the website will check for you.

It shouldn't be a problem. It doesn't matter what service provider you use, as long as the data is accessible.

If the CDMA providers, like Sprint and Verizon unlock their phones so that they can be used on other CDMA networks, unfortunately, it doesn't mean that someone can just contact their provider and have them activate the phone on their network. The phones would have to be flashed with the appropriate image and then activated on the network. Where the problem comes in is if, for example, you have a Sprint phone that is unlocked and you want to activate on Verizon, but Verizon doesn't sell the same model of phone. What that means is that there is no Verizon image for that phone and therefore, no way for them to activate it because the phone's series of ESN numbers are not in their database. I believe that in the article you may have read, it stated "any compatible phone". The key word is "compatible" and that basically means that the phone would have to be the exact same model that the carrier sells. Typically, Sprint and Verizon rarely sell the same exact model. Additionally, none of the data features would work, like MMS messaging or accessing the internet.

I'm afraid that people are thinking that using an "unlocked" CDMA phone on another CDMA network is going to be as easy as using a SIM-unlocked GSM phone on a different network, but I'm afraid that it really isn't going to be that way. You are much better off using a Verizon phone on the Verizon network and same with Sprint.

Currently, if you want to activate a Verizon phone on the Sprint network or vice versa, it would have to be "cloned" and that is an illegal practice and if Sprint doesn't sell the phone, you can't clone it anyway cause there's no ESN to clone it to.

Technically speaking, a Cingular phone can be used with T-Mobile, as you only need to switch the SIM card. However, the phone may be locked to Cingular, in which you need to unlock it to be used with another GSM network.

The iPhone currently cannot aquire Verizon due to the contract between Apple and AT&T. However, two Verizon employees told the press that Verizon will be available to the iPhone in January 2011. This is just another rumor of course, but there will be for sure and iPhone on Verizon either the summer of 2011 or 2012. If this Verizon iPhone happens, the sales will sky rocket and it would be the most used and successful phone in the world.

Hope this helps anyone like myself that was trying to set the remote codes on a Yamaha Receiver remote for a Dynex TV. I have a 32" Dynex in a second viewing area that I wanted to control with the RAV367 remote from my Yamaha RX-V1800 AV Receiver. I went through dozens of codes gathered from numerous websites, all with no luck. I finally decided to try programing it directly remote to remote with Yamaha's "Programing codes from other remote controls" chapter on page 104 of the RX-V1800's owner's manual. To my delight it worked perfectly and I now have most of the remote commands I use most often. The only alteration I made was to use the "TV Mute" control button on the RAV367 to set the TV input from the Dynex remote while using the "TV Input" button on the RAV367 to control the HDMI input. Other than that slight alteration every function I normally used on the Dynex remote I can now control with the Yamaha remote. I hope this helps.

Call forwarding is automatically included with all of Verizon's phone plans. To activate this feature, one should enter *72 followed by their 10-digit mobile number. Call forwarding can be turned off by using *73 instead.

Any standard phone line will do. My daughter lives in a house with 50-year old wiring, and her DSL works fine. What is really important is how close you are to a call center. That is a cenral routing station, owned and operated by the phone company. If you live further than 1/2 mile, the service degrades proportionally. One good way to find out if you are close to one is to go to say, SBC, (or your phone provider) and apply for DSL service. Before you commit, they will analyze your phone number and tell you if you qualify.
