Are there army enlisted pilots?

maybe, maybe not. == As your question implies, most Army pilots in WW2 were Officers. I presume pilots could be enlisted or either Warrant Officers(one rank below a Lieutenant). I am almost sure this rank existed in WW2. (Warrant Officers were quite common for helicopter pilots of Viet Nam War.) One example of an enlisted pilot is found in a book "Alone and Unarmed", by Ernest Kowalik. Staff Sgt. Ernest Kowalik was a Army pilot for the 88th Division's artillery and was the only pilot who was not an officer in this division. He flew an L-4 Piper Cub to spot for the artillery; he was the pilot and also acted as the observer. This is a great account of the experiences of an Army pilot in Italy. I'm sure there were others who rose through the ranks and earned their wings.

Who was the first woman to receive a pilot's license?

Baroness Raymonde de Laroche in 1910 from the Aero club of France. Harriet Quimby will be the first American woman in 1911 and also the first to fly at night.

How much does a pilot make a year?

Airline pilot salaryIt varies widely, especially in the aftermath of the events of 9/11 where many of the legacy carriers filed for bankruptcy (United, Delta, Northwest, US-Airways ...) The cargo carriers were largely unaffected and, for the most part, have surpassed the passenger airlines in pay and benefits. This is particularly true for Fed ex and UPS.

Historically, pay at regional airlines has always been low - and still is. This is because that this has normally been considered the "training ground" for younger, less experienced pilots, before they move up to a major airline where the pay improves dramatically.

But that "dramatic" pay increase is not there anymore and the line between regional carrier and major carrier has been blurred, especially when it comes to pay.

On average, pay at a regional carrier is around $30,000. It is lower for pilots with less seniority and, naturally, higher for pilots who have upgraded to captain and have gained seniority.

The pay at major carriers varies considerably but probably averages around $75,000. Again, captains typically make well over $100,000 and new hires make far less. This is a dramatic reduction from years past (pre-9/11) where the average pay was slightly over $100,000. In "the good ole days", some captains were making nearly $300,000 per year.

Competition from low cost carriers, high fuel prices, and the ability of passengers to shop for the cheapest fare via the Internet has put considerable pressure on airlines to cut costs. Unfortunately, the airline employees have paid the heaviest price in shouldering these cutbacks - the pilots, by far, taking the biggest cuts.

It should be noted that pilots typically get paid for each hour they fly (down to the minute) - not a salary. So the "hourly rate", coupled with the number of hours flown, drives their pay.

Pilots are also working much longer hours for less pay as airline managements have demanded increased productivity. Most airlines have either terminated or frozen their pension plans.

Can you contact pilots NPCs in FreeLancer?

Yes, by using the radio icon on the bottom left hud panel, but you usually get a response like where they came from, what their mission or patrol is and possibly the cargo they carry. Continual radio contact with the same NPC results in an annoyed "stop wasting my time" styled response. Shooting at a friendly or neutral NPC causes them to respond and warn you.

Can you get a job using your private pilots license?

you cant take people up in the sky for profit, but you could do some photography, etc.

If pilots one ear is deaf what to do?

As long as the pilot can communicate with Air Traffic Control or other Pilots using the headset (most headsets are on both ears) this is not a problem. If you are sitting in an airplane, you usually only hear the sound of the engine and the communication through your headset.

Can student loans pay for pilots license?

This is a very vague question. It depends on what type of student loans you are referring to. If you are referring to Alternative/Private Loans then the answer would be yes. These loans are credit-based. Most aspiring pilots use alternative loans to finance their training. Federal Loans (non-credit based) are available but do not cover the cost of flight training in it's entirety. I have taken the latter approach due to a bankruptcy on my credit. Federal Loans are only available through a degree seeking program. In other words you can't go to your local FBO and expect to get a Federal Loan. You must enroll in a community college or University. My advice to you if you plan on attending a 2 or 4-year aviation program is to go to the financial aid office and explain to them that you are in the aviation program and you need to "max out your student loans in order to pay for flight training." They will have you write a letter to this effect. The process should take you less than five minutes. What happens next is the school will take whatever fees are due to them and issue a refund check for the excess funds. You can then take the check which is issued to you and use it for your flight training. The biggest disadvantage with this approach is that you WILL run out of money. You will have to wait until the next semester for your excess funds to continue flying.

Why are pilot unions important for the airline pilot?

Corporation first priority is to the corporation, unions first priority is to preserve the union, the members are pawns in both cases.

The ideal union operates for its members and there is strength in numbers. The idea that keeping corporations in business might be of benefit seems to have been lost on many unions these days. Both sides need each other but both sides seem to have forgotten that as well.

Do you need 20 20 vision to be a pilot?

Civilian Pilot: It needs to be Correctable to 20-20 to be a civilian pilot. So you can wear glasses and fly. Military: You need to have 20-20 vision uncorrected to be a pilotso you would have to get laser eye surgery to be a military pilot, however other military employments in an airborn craft maynot need glasses. Such as a navigator. Answer two: It depends on your country of origin mostly. Here in Canada you need: Civilian: 20/30 corrected/uncorrected. Military: 20/20 corrected. Since last year, glasses are now allowed. Laser eye is still not and according to my local recruiter, probably never will be.

How many pilots are unemployed in India?

Based on newspaper and online reports there are between 4000 to 6000 unemployed CPL pilots in India. Most of the recruitment is for experienced airbus or other heavy jet Captains/Commanders. And thats why the airlines are hiring expats from other countries. Also more pilots in training are joining ranks everyday. Very few get lucky and have jobs...but do you want to spend 50-75lakhs $150k+ and depend on luck. My advise stay away from pilot training....spend a 10th of that and get a degree in IT, Medical or an MBA and have a stable job on the ground. Trust me I spent a lot of money and went through 2 school bankruptcies in the USA and i gave up. Any questions email me at acepilot400050@yahoo.com .

Why are helicopter pilots on the right side of aircraft?

In the very early days of flying, pilots would fly between locations following the road system. By sitting on the left, they would keep the road in sight through their front and left side window. The pilot flying in the opposite direction would do likewise, there by ensuring that they did not have a head on crash
