Does the polar bear have a tail?

they have a short tail because their tail keeps in their warmth.
To minimize heat loss :]
Polar bears like other bears have short tails more or less because they don't need long ones. Bears evolved from a canine like species that had long tails. They didn't really need the long tails and through natural selection eventually evolved the stumpy tails they have today. Another reason specific to polar bears is that is very inefficient to heat a long tail when temperatures are as cold as they are in that bears environment.

Why doesn't a cotton garment keep you as warm in winter as a woolen sweater does?

All insulating clothing traps heat by preventing the movement of body heat away from the individual. One way is to catch radiation (infrared heat) and the other is to prevent air from carrying away heat through circulation. Wool absorbs the radiated heat, and most is not re-radiated from the outside. Additionally, the thicker material blocks air flow from reaching you, creating a warmer air layer between the sweater and the body. Cotton garments allow more of this warmed air to "leak out" through the thinner fabric.

What should you do when someone tells you they never loved you?

In almost all cases when someone is angry, is depressed or things just aren't working out for them they will lash out at the ones they truly love (You always hurt the ones you love, is so true.) Most people go with people they have at least loved at the beginning. When I was married to my first husband he had been cheating on me (with more than one woman) and I had kicked him out, but then I got cancer (got over it thank God) and it was his choice to come by, wanting to be there for me. I thought "miracles never cease" and I should have known better. I have no doubt that my first husband truly felt he should be there after 3 1/2 years of marriage, but I suppose his mistress was putting pressure on him to get going on the divorce (I eventually got the divorce.) He was fine for about 2 weeks. I was terrified, went through tests, etc., did have surgery and by the grace of God, I didn't have to have radiation or chemo. I was still very sick and weak and one day while driving out to his cousins he said, "Why don't you just die?" I had never been treated in this manner before (or since) and couldn't believe my ears. The hurt was so extent that I asked him to stop the car and let me out. He did begrudingly, and I took a cab back home, changed the locks on the doors immediately and refused to see this twit ever again. I realized for the first time in the relationship we had that he was immature, irresponsible and a total jerk who refused to grow up. In other words, he had no back bone! Later, when I moved away (he kept phoning me apologizing and wanting me back) I couldn't forgive him for those words, but I knew deep down that his cheating was his weakness (not mine) and that he had been angry when he'd said those words. I forgave him (it sets you free) but I've never forgotten it. I never set eyes on him again. It's time you sat down with this person and talked things out. If they are beyond that, then leave! I know it's easier said than done, but don't be a victim in this relationship. You deserve better. Good luck Marcy

Is it possible to rent an apartment if you had your first eviction just a year ago?

I shouldn't tell you this, but you could lie and just say you were rooming with a friend (and have a friend vouch for you) or you were living with a parent or parents. However, smarten up and pay your rent! It's a responsibility just like anything else in life. Pay your rent first, put money aside for gas for your car, food, money to pay electricity, cable, etc. Then do what you want with the rest. Marcy

What is the boy's name on Polar Express?

As far as I know, all of the characters in Polar Express are given descriptive names only- Hero Boy, Railroad conductor, engineer, etc. various crew members and passengers. Of Course Santa Claus is named, but he"s special. The anonymity angle is unusual and here used to advantage, suggesting a dream setting. It doesn't work so well in novels and movies that aim at realilsm or plausibility such as Wells" Time Machine ( the lead character is only referred to as the Time Traveller) or Anne-Marie, a film scripted by airman-writer St. Exuperby around l936. Apart from Anne-Marie, all characters are merely descriptive- the Aircraft mechanic, news reporter, etc.
