Pontiac Vibe

The spark plugs on a 2004 Pontiac Vibe are changed by removing the plug cover, disconnecting the spark plug wires, and taking out individual spark plugs using a deep wall socket. New plugs are then set to the proper gap and torqued into place.

Recommended tire pressure is 32psi.

This is the HVAC actuator. I am having my recirculater actuator replaced today. It is a similar problem . Makes that thumping rythmic noise. Can't stand the noise anymore. If it is the recirculatoer actuator the noise will stop when you push the air recirculater on. From what I understand this part has to be calibrated so I have to take it in to get it done.

1) Removal of plastic bulb cover/lens: With your fingertips, pull rearward on the front edge of the plastic cover. You will need to bend the plastic cover slightly. After moving it rearward slightly, pull reaward and downward. The cover will snap off. After removing, you will see the tabs that hold the cover in place. 2)Changing bulb: The bulb can be pulled out. Do not touch the glass of the new bulb. With clean hands, use a tissue or paper towel to handle the bulb. The oil from you fingers will create a hot spot on the bulb and make it burn out sooner. If you do touch it, wash and rinse it with rubbing alchohol. 3) Reinstall bulb cover: Insert the tabs on the cover into the slots in the rear of the dome light. Pull rearward on the front of the bulb cover, bending the cover slighty. While pulling rearward, push upward on the cover, and it will snap back into place.

After you open the back hatch, you notice two compartments, one on each side of the hatch area, remove the panels to gain access to the bulbs.

The 2003 Pontiac Montana air conditioning compressor condensation drain begins on the bottom of the air conditioner compressor. The drain goes from the compressor to the bottom of the engine compartment.

Did you try to disconnect the battery cables and let the car sit for a minute or so? If so, when you did, did the light come back on? If the light came back on, you would need to find the root of the problem in order to get the light to come off. Mine stayed on for several months before I finally discovered that it was time to change the air-intake sensor. Once replaced, I haven't seen the little light pop up again!

I have a 2007 vibe. I've only been able to find specs for vib 2003-05 at 76 ft-lbs.

This is done very easy.Pull the trim around the radio.It will pop off.Push the trim peice to one side.You will see four screws,two at the front and two near the back off the radio.Remove these and the radio is out.Make sure you know your code before you unplug the radio.The radio lock out once you remove the plug.

Be sure to check your gas cap !! The only time my Vibe has ever had the check engine light come on, is when we didnt tighten the gas cap after filling up! The car had 300 miles on it the first time!! Ug! Tighten it, and drive about 20 miles, it may reset it self if not, then when the car is turned off and then back on it should.

Doing this will also disable your Low Fuel alert, your Dash Illumination, your Low Oil Pressure light, as well as your Seat Belt Alert. I would STRONGLY advise against doing this, but if you have more money than sense...remove the 10a gauge fuse in your fuse panel. Again, in the stongest sense, I advise against doing this unless you want to be stranded for lack of fuel, blow your engine for lack of oil, and not be able to see your dash at night

I travel 100 highway miles round-trip everyday in my commute to work. I can get approximately 350-385 miles out of each tank of gas from my '04 Vibe. I've done this for several years in fact, and hav over 110,000 miles on the odo. It seems that the gas mileage doesn't suffer from time and usage on this car as it has with my previous vehicles.

After looking for the manual, I couldn't find much. However, I did some research for the Vibe and from most comments I see, there are four spark plugs that go into the 2003 Vib.e

If you have to fill it, you have a leak. First and foremost, fix the leak. Look for oil around fittings and loose connections. Those are signs of the leak. After you've got it fixed, you need to pull a vacum on the system for 30 to 45 minutes. After it reaches 28 inches for 30 minutes or so, valve it off and let it set for another 30 minutes. The needle should not have moved. Then you attach the filler hose to the LOW side of the system. The hose can be purchased anywhere they sell refrigerant. The fitting should be close to the receiver/dryer. Crank the car and turn the ac on. Open the valve on the hose and hold the can upright. The ac clutch will start to cycle(turning on then off). That's normal. After the first can is empty, close the valve and attach another can. Repeat the process. It may take four or five cans to fill it up. When it's full, the dryer will "sweat" or condensate. It should stop cycleing as well and stay on all the time. That's pretty much it.

It is either the car isn't on or somthing is jammed inside the vehicle If I were I would call the auto-repair shop then they can fix the problem Another possibility is that you may have a bad brake licht switch.

Lift back hatch and look up at the inside of the hatch. Ther should be a rectangular piece in the middle of the door pannel, just pop it off with a small flat head screw driver and it will expose the wiring as well as lights. At least that is how it is on my 05! Cant imagine it could be much different!

I would be seriously concerned about its future, that is a lot of miles, however, if the price is right, and maintenance has been impeccable it may be worth the investment. The price should be way below the average for that vehicle, fo r an estimate of what you should expect to pay use kbb.com cost calculator, then deduct what you see on the car, take not of whether the engine has been rebuilt and what you hear, is it noisy? While I would not recommend a car with that many miles it might be something to get you by until you can afford something better.
