Does the woodlands resort and conference center have a heated pool?
On a regular basis, we do not have a heated pool. On occasion, we will heat the back pool during Spring Break week only.
It might stain the plaster. When you have an algae bloom, get on it right away, don't wait. See the link below for more info.
Almost all pool heaters use a copper heat exchanger (looks like a radiator; water flows through it; fire heats the outside = hot water). Salt water or fresh water, all pools have chlorine. Over time, chlorine corrodes copper. (As a pool service provider, I have never seen rust stains caused by a copper heat exchanger: the most common causes of rust stains are iron based lawn fertilizer in the pool and metallic objects resting on the bottom too long) Copper will, however, eventually leave blue-green deposits on the plaster surfaces. While I haven't yet seen one, it is my understanding that one or more of the larger pool equipment mfrs. makes a heater with a titanium heat exchanger which does not corrode. Check with Hayward, Pentair, Jandy, etc., but expect to pay big bucks.
What size gas meter do you need for your house to use a 333000 BTU pool heater?
The gas meter on your house is sufficient,
Should you let solar pool run all night in freezing weather?
You need to circulate the pool water in freezing conditions to prevent the pool piping, filter system, etc from freezing and being damaged. If you can bypass the solar system and are assured that ALL the panels and associated piping is drained you will be ok if not run the system, yes you will cool the pool down but will not damage the system
WHY ARE THERE worms in a gunite swimming pool?
Worms come out at night and on cloudy, darkened days. When they travel across the ground and end up in the pool they drown and collect there. Unlike crickets, spiders and other insects, worms lack the ability to swim to a place where they can get out of the water
How do you turn on pilot light?
1) first u have to find a switch
2) then u click it
3) it should light up!
4) eat
just kidding---try bringing it to the dealership or buy a car manual in an autoshop.
How do you determine the correct size pool heater for an inground pool?
You need to check your gas lines for the size of piping under ground. The size of the heater is all personal preference really, but its up to how much gas flow you can get which will tell you if you can get the bigger, better heaters.
Will liquid solar pool cover keep out dirt?
Unfortunately no, liquid pool covers cannot help with any debris (dirt, bucks, leaves, etc). You have to decide what is more important, the ease of using a liquid cover vs the debris catching ability of a plastic cover. There is also a price differential, of course. Sometimes a net and a good skimmer/filter will do the trick!
Good luck!
If you don't mind paying for the power, it certainly wont hurt your water. Naturally your pump will wear out more quickly because you are ruining it more. There are 2 speed pumps available that have this especially in mind.
The problem is not the heater. When was the last time that you cleaned the pool filter? Low or no water flow - no heat. Low flow = dirty filter or plugged pump or skimmer baskets.

How do you determine the operating costs for an above ground gas pool heater?
Your gas pool heater should have a BTU/hr rating for input and output printed on a placard somewhere on the heater. Look for the input rating and divide by 100,000 to get Therms/hr. Assuming your gas is being billed in dollars per Therm, just multiply that rate by your Therms/hr. to get dollars/hour. Multiply this by how many hours you run your gas heater and that's your total pool heater operating cost.
Also take in account the time of year temp and wind. If your heating your pool to 78-85 degrees and your pool water is 60 degrees that would be an 18-25 degree temp rise. Your pool is exposed on all sides and this will bleed heat off quickly. It may never achieve the temp desired or not shut down and always call for heat.
Can you fill a children's pool using a hot water heater?
Yes! Connect a garden hose to the output valve of the water heater and open the water heater valve to put hot water into the kiddie pool. This is the fastest way to warm a children's pool.
Can you get a solar panel for a swimming pool pum what size and what you will need to install?
Sizing a solar system for a pool is relatively straight forward. First calculate the square footage of the pool (NOT the volume of water). Take that number and multiply by .8. Your goal is to get close to 80% of your surface area to be the surface area of the solar system. Buy POOL panels. Contrary to belief, panels which have a glass pane over the absorber sheet is NOT more efficient for heating pools. Set the panels facing south at 15-30 degrees of angle. A diverter valve can be used with the existing pool pump to pump the water through the panels. The 80% rule assumes that a pool cover is being used. I installed systems on the central coast of California. If your climate is cooler, add another panel. If there is no cover on the pool, increase the surface area of the solar system to 100%. Also, if you can not face the panels south, you may want to increase the panel size as well. This formula is designed to hold your pool at 80 deg. from April to October. Hope this helps
I am sure it could be done but it sounds expensive to build and also to operate with the price of gas and oil. I would just use a small heat pump if you are not in a cold weather state trying to heat in the winter. If you want to heat when it is below 45 degrees then maybe geothermal might be the way to go. Can you keep a heated pool on temperature 88 F in summer in Florida?
The hard part is keeping a swimming pool cool in Fl. My pool in Cutler Ridge (south of Miami) would feel like warm bath water during the summer. It was easily over 88F, but there wasn't anything to be done about it. :-/
What is the calculation for above ground pool heating?
As pertaining to what?
Sizing the heater to the pool?
Length of run time to heat the pool?
Proper gas line run and size of pipe to use?
What brand to use?
How to hook the heater into the system?
Natural gas or Propane?
And quite a few more k
Does liquid solar pool cover work in a 68000 gallon pool?
The way the liquid solar pool cover works is that it forms a film on the surface of the water that is more or less undetectable. You can manually add it each week or you can buy products that stay in the pool and slowly release the solution. This film reduces the amount of water loss due to evaporation and its effectiveness depends greatly on the surface area of your pools. 68000 Gallons is quite a large pool. If the pools is shallow with a large surface area it wont be as effective than if your pool is deep with a smaller surface area. This product will help either way but like I said, the extent to which it will work depends greatly on the dimensions of your pool. Another tid bit of info -- These liquid solar covers are only 12% as effective as the real deal, however I don't know if the bubble type cover is available in the size needed for your pools. Good luck.
What is the best and cheapest way to heat a fiberglass pool year round in Maine?
If you really want to heat your pool to a temperature comfortable for swimming YEAR ROUND (Jan-Dec), then either a gas heater or a heat pump would be the most efficient option. You would have to perform a side-by-side comparison of the exact models (gas vs heat pump) using current fuel costs to determine which would be cheaper to operate. Solar heating will extend your swimming season, but will not be able to provide enough heat in the winter months due to cold air temps, cloud cover, and low solar intensity due to your high northern latitude. (Obviously, I have assumed that you pool is outdoors). Hope this helps ...
Can a pool heat exchanger be repaired after freeze up?
It depends on the freeze damage, if you have a couple of small coil ruptures and your heater is relatively new then I suggest bringing it to a local radiator repair shop. They can test it to see if its worth fixing.
If the heater is has a multitude of ruptures in the coils and/or its over 5 years old I suggest replacing it.
What would happen if you didn't have vitamin b?
The B vitamins are actually composed of eight water-soluble vitamins that play important roles in cell metabolism. Historically, the B vitamins were once thought to be a single vitamin, referred to as vitamin B (much as people refer to vitamin C or vitamin D). However, later research showed that they are chemically distinct vitamins that often coexist in the same foods. Therefore, deficiency of the B vitamins depend on the specific B vitamin deficient in:
* Vitamin B1 (thiamine) - Deficiency causes beriberi. Symptoms of this disease of the nervous system include weight loss, emotional disturbances, Wernicke's encephalopathy (impaired sensory perception), weakness and pain in the limbs, periods of irregular heartbeat, and edema (swelling of bodily tissues). Heart failure and death may occur in advanced cases. Chronic thiamine deficiency can also cause Korsakoff's syndrome, an irreversible psychosis characterized by amnesia and confabulation. * Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) - Deficiency causes ariboflavinosis. Symptoms may include cheilosis (cracks in the lips), high sensitivity to sunlight, angular cheilitis, glossitis (inflammation of the tongue), seborrheic dermatitis or pseudo-syphilis (particularly affecting the scrotum or labia majora and the mouth), pharyngitis, hyperemia, and edema of the pharyngeal and oral mucosa. * Vitamin B3 (niacin) - Deficiency, along with a deficiency of tryptophan causes pellagra. Symptoms include aggression, dermatitis, insomnia, weakness, mental confusion, and diarrhea. In advanced cases, pellagra may lead to dementia and death. * Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) - Deficiency can result in acne and paresthesia, although it is uncommon. * Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) - Deficiency may lead to anemia, depression, dermatitis, high blood pressure (hypertension), water retention, and elevated levels of homocysteine. * Vitamin B7 (biotin) - Deficiency does not typically cause symptoms in adults but may lead to impaired growth and neurological disorders in infants. * Vitamin B9 (folic acid) - Deficiency results in a macrocytic anemia, and elevated levels of homocysteine. Deficiency in pregnant women can lead to birth defects. Supplementation is often recommended during pregnancy. Researchers have shown that folic acid might also slow the insidious effects of age on the brain. * Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) - Deficiency causes macrocytic anemia, elevated homocysteine, peripheral neuropathy, memory loss and other cognitive deficits. It is most likely to occur among elderly people as absorption through the gut declines with age; the autoimmune disease pernicious anemia is another common cause. It can also cause symptoms of mania and psychosis. In rare extreme cases, paralysis can result.
Does it help to keep a pool covered?
Not much-you just skim a little less, but that's the easy part. the hard part is the never ending war on algae.
At night yes. During sunny days, you will be better off removing the cover or using a clear cover.
Can you run a DE filter without DE while the pool cover is still on?
No, The D.E. is used to trap dirt paraticles, all you will do is clog the ropes inside the filter, then you will tear the filter down and soak the ropes with muratic acid for at least 24 hours. And put the filter back together and run it with the D.E.
If this is a portable Hot Tub - spa - Jacuzzi, you as a homeowner, should not attempt trouble shooting the components under the spa skirt. You are not qualified nor do you have the proper testing devices. Most likely your electronic heater has failed. You need to call a qualified service tech to do this job -- your life can depend on someone who is knowledgeable of codes and swimming pool equipment.
