When cornering, the speed of the outside wheel is typically higher than that of the inside wheel due to the different radii of their paths. If the crown wheel is rotating at 800 RPM and the inside wheel is at 500 RPM, the outside wheel's speed can be inferred. Assuming the differential allows for this difference, the outside wheel's speed would be approximately proportional to the crown wheel's speed, while the inside wheel's speed reflects the tighter turn, resulting in the outside wheel rotating faster than 800 RPM.

TO ACQUIRE RADIO SERIAL # AND THEN THE RADIO CODE:

turn the car on to accessory mode, but do not start the engine. press and hold the TP button on the radio until you hear it beep...it will take several seconds. Once it beeps, you will be in a menu, and use the right knob (the one you use to tune channels) to scroll through the options until you see the serial number. It will most likely say SERI followed by an 8 digit # like "SERI 00154848". Call your porcsche dealer and speak with the service department. Give them this serial number and they SHOULD be able to give you the code. Sometimes they want to charge you, but i work for a dealership myself, so our porsche dealer knows who i am. It's worth a try though!!

Low end: 1997, non-S, in fair / poor condition can now be had for as little as $6-7k.

High end: Brand new... $50k.

Or, you can buy a factory manual, and do all the work yourself.

After all, Good mechanics are not super human, they just have knowledge and experience you do not.

You don't have a dipstick. Oil level measurement is electronic and initiates automatically when the ignition is turned to "on" (not start). It can take as little as 8 sec if the engine has not been run but will take considerably longer (5-8 min) if the engine has been run. The oil level display is on the main display under the tach.

The method varies by year. On the 2000 model there is an emergency release under the drivers side headlight. You have to remove the wheel and front of the splash shield to access it (you do not need to remove the whole splash shield). It is a black flexible wire loop, just pull it and it will unlatch the hood.

On some there is also a red pin that can be pulled up in the fuse panel that if given 12v will give power to the switch.

When my 1999 model battery went dead while sitting in the garage - I put 12V to the C3 fuse. Pull the fuse and using 2 pieces of # 15 wire, wrap each prong at the plastic base and twist tight. Wire nut a two foot long piece of wire to the two shorter ones you attached to the fuse. Put your fuse back in (pulling an adjacent fuse will make it easier to put back in). Now connect a 12V battery, negative to the frame door latch and positive to the long wire. I used jumper cables to another car, negative from the battery to the frame door latch and positive to the long wire. To reset the trunk and hood locks, use a screwdriver to push the door lock closed by inserting in the hole you can see in the end of the door and moving the screwdriver toward the car. Now use the key to unlock, lock and unlock again. You should hear the central locking mechanism unlock.

I have a 1998 Boxter. Here is how I opened the truck: take a piece of solid copper wire about 10 " long and flatten both ends with a hammer to the same thickness as the fuse blades. Make a "u" shape loop and insert the flattened ends into the fuse holder. Then hook up your battery charger negative lead to the door latch hook and the positive to your copper loop. Put the charger on trickle 0.3 amp charge.

The alarm will go off, so put the key in the door and lock and unlock the door. This shuts off the alarm and you can unlock the trunk. Email me at richens@roadrunner.com if you need more help. Regards, Dave R.

Do you mean light bulbs or or the tail lights. Either one just open the trunk pull back the carpet. The bulb housing is cliped in just press tab and pull out. I assume the tail light removal should be self explanatory once you pull the carpet pack and see them.

To be more exact, the engine is centered right behind the driver and passenger seats. You may access the engine from the inside of the car by leaving the convertible up, moving the seats forward and removing the horizontal panel located directly behind the headrests.

On the passenger side of car below gas filler tube. You must remove the front fender liner to gain access.
