Is Prednisone safe for children?

Prednisone has many terrible affects, including weight gain, depression, and acne. In children, I may be wrong, but I believe it also can stunt growth. I would not recommend prednisone long term for your child unless it is absolutely necessary, short term it is acceptable because there is not enough time for the side affects to really take hold.

Is there any other medicine to use instead of Prednisone because of the side effects it has?

It really depends why it has been prescribed for you! Are you suffering with any side effects? Usually steroids are prescribed because they are the only drug that will improve or treat a condition . Stopping prednisolone suddenly is a bad idea. It should be done gradually with medical supervision. Are you on a long term course of it for life or is it a temporary treatment?

AnswerLook in the phonebook or other periodicals for a NATUROPATHIC doctor who usesHOMEOPATHY. That's the only suggestion I can make, because PREDNISONE is an odd, strong, UNIQUE, effective, sometimes problematic medication (bad side effects). Many people do not believe in Homopathic Remedies, but in your case you have not much to lose. <> Follow doctors orders and stay on prednisoneuntil you find a Homopathic doctor, then tell your doctor you would like to tryit, and he will wean you off of prednisone on a CERTAIN schedule, slowly ( Thatis after he spends 30 minutes telling you Homopathy is worthless. ) But it's worth a try, it won't kill you, and you can always go back to prednisone!!There really isn't anything that comes to mind to equal prednisone.

What over-the-counter cream is best for shrinking pores on the face?

I cannot recommend any over the counter creams. Many have harmful additives that do more damage to your skin than help. However, if you are interested, there are a couple of home remedies that work rather well.

First, you can get about 1/3 c almonds and crush them into a powder, add enough filtered or spring water to make a paste, rub onto the large pores (always upward & outward strokes for your skin), & leave on for 1/2 hr. Rinse off (tepid water, NEVER hot or cold), then splash with a mix of 1/4 c apple cider vinegar & 1/4 c cool water.

For really big pores (I have this problem;-) - Get yourself a container of buttermilk. Every evening for as long as the container lasts, soak a wad of cotton in it & dab on your face. Let sit for 20-30 min. Rinse off with tepid water.
