How is the sex of an embryo determined?
The sex of an embryo is determined by the combination of sex chromosomes inherited from the mother and father. Typically, females have two X chromosomes (XX) and males have one X and one Y chromosome (XY). The presence of a Y chromosome triggers the development of male characteristics.
The sex of your baby is tottally dependant upon the male's sperm, each sperm has a specific sex chromosome, either a Y or an X . every egg of a female has only X sex chromosomes. When one sperm conjoins with one egg, the female gives her X chromosome and the male gives the chromosome (either X or Y) belonging to the sperm that made it to the egg first and will determine the sex. XX = Female
XY = Male * All the things you hear about eating meat during your pregnancy will produce a boy and fruits will produce a girl are myth!
What is the ratio of a baby being male or female?
The ratio of a human baby being a male to being a female is 1:1.
That means that the baby has a 50% of being a male, and a 50% of being a female.
A male human has the genotype of XY.
A female human has the genotype of XX.
Some mutated organisms have an XXY or XYY for a genotype.
Is it the guy's sperm that makes the gender of a baby?
Yes. Sperm carry either an X or a Y chromosome. The eggs from a female's ovaries is always X.
If the sperm has an X chromosome, the baby will be female.
If the sperm has a Y chromosome, the baby will be male.
Are more males or females born each year?
Worldwide, there are 107 boy babies born for every 100 girl babies.
This slightly skewed ratio is partly due to sex-selective abortion and the killing of female infants when males are more desired. Boys have a higher death rate, both as infants and adults, so the ratio later in life is slightly different. Specifically, for every 1,000 people in the world, 504 are men (50.4%) and 496 are women (49.6%).
What race has the most teen pregnancies?

What is the normal heartbeat of a male fetus?
at 10 1/2 weeks a babies heartbeat should be between 140 and 150
Not all pregnancies are the same, i should know, I'm having my 6th one. From what i was told with my pregnancies, was that for boys, the normal beat would be between 130/139 and for girls 140/150. If it's much over or much under, only your ob doctor can tell you if it's ok or not. I'm 30 weeks now and my doctor told me the beat was 152, i was worried because my other daughter didn't have it that high and on top of that, he told me i was having a boy. My ob says that as long as the heart beat stays between 120 to 160, it should be fine. Again, it all depends on your doctor. This early in the pregnancy, i definitely would suggest to get a pro's opinion.
ACOG expanded their guidelines to include heartbeats from 110-160 as a normal range during pregnancy.
Although, as you get closer to term, more important factors contribute to good fetal heart tones (FHTs) than just heart rate including variability, absence of decels, presence of accels, and a reactive strip.
160 heart beats is that a girl or more likely a boy?
It is impossible to tell by rate of the heartbeat. Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is speaking old wives tales. The above answerer said that you can tell for sure by an ultrasound. You cannot. Sometimes the baby keeps its legs together or is at a difficult angle and you sonographer can't see, and sometimes it is just impossible to tell.

Are there certain days that increase your chance of having a baby boy?
This ovulation calender will help: http://www.ovulation-calendar.com/hlp-c04-conceiving-boy.html
Y sperm which produce boys are faster but weaker than X sperm which produce girls. Have lots of sex in the week after your period which will put sperm production into overdrive and more male sperm are produced. Then do not have intercourse again until just after ovulation, (though the man can masturbate to orgasm). There will be more male sperm than female and they will get to the ovum first as it is travelling down the Fallopian tubes.
This is not a gurantee, I have boy/girl twins.
Does the ring pregnancy gender trick only work on pregnant woman?
This trick is not for perfect suggestion, I use only IntelliGender products. And i get perfect suggestion about my baby gender predictions. This trick is only superstition/old wives tale, so it is not proven to work at all, but it is supposed to be performed on a pregnant woman's belly.

Is it possible to chose a babys gender?
Since it is the males sperm that is at play when it comes to having a girl or boy, there is not much one can do to be sure of getting the one or the other.
There are companies that say they can separate male sperm from female sperm, but studies does not show fail-proof results.
Some people claim that the PH level in vagina can affect the outcome one way or the other but this is still not scientifically proven to my knowledge.
Some people say that you should do this or that in order to get a baby of desired gender.
Some even say the solution is easy.
If you go left, the baby will be a girl.
If you go right, the baby will be a boy.
If going straight into the middle, then you get twins.
Others say that from behind produces girls and from on top, it makes boys.
This is all a load of crap and can not be proven right by anybody.
It is all stories because a lot of women enjoys talking, and some even believe this.
My best choice would be to separate the sperm by a company, but I feel that even this is a long shot.
How sex of embryo can be determined?
By taking the DNA of the embryo, putting it through some tests and coming out with results on whether it's a female (XX chromosomes) or a male (XY chromosomes). These chromosomes are the same in terms of sex selection for all mammals.
