I'm in year 7 now but when I was in primary school I got my first boyfriend by following these steps:

1. Don't get nervous - he's just a normal guy

2. Become friends - it'll be easier to talk to him when you know him well

3. Take it slow - he will think you're weird if you jump into a relationship

4. Flirt a little - laugh at his jokes, play with your hair, smile at him and hint that you like him but be careful not to appear to desperate

5. Touch him - this may sound odd but boys like it when you touch them and it makes them realise that you like them. If you sit next to them in a class, quickly touch legs or brush past them in the hallway or when you're standing in line

6. See if they like you - check to see if they look at you then turn away

7. Ask them out - if they haven't asked you out by now, ask them, you could be talking and say "wouldn't it be funny if we were going out" and check their reaction or you could say "I'm going to the cinema on Saturday and I wondered if you wanted to go with me?" or if you're quite confident you could even say "I really like you, do you want to go out with me?"

8. Their answer - if they say yes, great but if they say no, don't ask them why or start crying or anything, just say "ok, maybe some other time" and carry on with just being friends, maybe if you're still interested in him in a few weeks or so, you could ask him again but don't sound to keen because this can stop him from liking you. If they said "can I think about it" don't hassle him just say "sure that's fine" and don't worry they haven't said no. I hope this helps you. :-)
