Puberty and Adolescence

Puberty is the period in life characterized by major physical changes, marking the transition to adulthood from childhood. It involves accelerated physical growth and the development of the reproductive systems in girls and boys. Adolescence is the transitional period following puberty in which a teenager matures into an adult. It is characterized by increasing independence and cognitive growth.

Can anything stop puberty from happening?

Puberty can be delayed by blocking the release of GnRH from the hypothalamus. Growth hormone will do this partially, but there are also pharmacological methods (both GnRH agonists and antagonists have been effectively used).

What causes pain in testicles during puberty?

Almost anything! Being hit, kicked or having them squeezed is very painful. Some men feel testicle pain just playing in a very active sport if they don't wear a jockstrap.

Do boys nipples become sore when going through puberty?

Yes, often they do. Due to the surging hormones it is common for boys in stages 3 and 3 of puberty to develop breasts. This is called gynecomastia, and will go away on its own as their hormones reach adult levels. So there is nothing to be worried about. Approximately 70% of boys will go through this change.

What is the part of the body that grows last during Puberty?

Hair continues growing, particularly chest hair which develops well into their 20's.

Muscle mass also continues, and the genitals reach their final size.

Who starts puberty first?

Boys definitely

Because even though they think it's harder because they don't talk about it, it is still harder for girls because we don't want to talk about it either but we are FORCED to talk about it and it is SOOOOOO gross. Also when puberty is over for boys it is ALL over and done with but even when girls' puberty is over we STILL have to get periods every month. Another thing boys only have one change, which is puberty, and when it is over it's over. On the other hand girls have two changes, puberty and menopause, and when puberty is over, as previously stated, we STILL have to get periods every month AND we don't get off the hook there because we STILL have menopause coming!!! ==

True... you do get periods after, but can you imagine having to shave everytime you wake up from a nap? how much of a pain when you wake up every morning with a stiffy?

Girls have to shave their legs and armpits. true, not as often but it is that + periods. Also, if you want to have a kid the normal way you have to get pregnant... guys don't. Also can you imagine how painful period cramps are?

What will to a girl who has sex but hasn't hit puberty?

Puberty is very variable. Boys can start it at different ages (the normal range for it to start is considered to be from 9 years of age until the late teens). The average age is generally 12 to 13. Boys don't all go through the various stages in the same order. Here at the visible signs of puberty, which might happen in any order... growth of hair on your scrotum and in the region of your penis (also around your anus), growth of hair on your ankles and in your armpits. Growth of facial hair. Your penis will get longer and thicker, your scrotum will get darker in colour and hang lower to accomodate the increasing size of your testes. You will sweat more and your sweat will begin to smell. You may get spots and blackheads. You will grow taller and your muscles will develop. You will find yourself think about sex a lot and you will get erections. You may find yourself mentally comparing the size of your own penis with the penises of other boys in the showers at school, this doesn't necessarily mean that you are gay, just that you are curious which is perfectly normal. You may also feel the urge to masturbate and when you do at some point you will eventually produce sperm. Oh and your voice will "break" and lower in pitch as your larynx (voice box or Adam's apple) enlarges and you'll also suffer from abrupt mood swings (your family will suffer because of them too). There is no definitive end point to puberty. By 21 or so years of age (if not sooner) you probably have reached your maximum height and your penis will probably have reached its maximum length but muscle mass and body hair may continue to extend after this age and may continue into the mid thirties or perhaps even later. The mind of a boy will also change and he will develop adult attitutes and ways of thinking. As part of this process teenagers often become rebellious. Initially rebellion may be limited to disagreements with their own parents but soon they begin to question other parts of society, religon, laws and virtually everything else. This is good, it is the way things are meant to be. As a young child you accept unquestioningly the decisions of your parents. As you reach puberty you begin to question everything, it is part of the process of growing independent, of become an adult yourself who is capable of making his own decisions. Moods are greatly influenced by hormone levels and at puberty the body is awash with hormones, which can lead to very intense feelings and hugely variable mood swings. One moment you're on top of the world and the next minute you hate yourself and want to die. These feelings are typical and eventually, as the process of puberty tails off, the mood swings will lessen. You'll develop your own personality and ideas, which will be different from those of your parents but not necessarily bought lock stock and barrel from your favourite band or movie.

Is it normal to be 15 and have a penis that's 10 inches long and 7 inches in girth?

It IS normal for some immature 15 year olds to make up a question and post it as a "joke". I wonder if your parents would find it funny? Why don't you show them what type of son they're raising?

It's not eaxtly " normal " , but it isn't freakish either. The length is at the high end of normal, and at 3 1/2 inches in diameter is proportionate for the length. Just be a responsible owner/operator , and be VERY gentle with women when the time comes to use it.

What are the three changes of adolescence?

Early Adolescence

12 - 14 years Middle Adolescence

15 - 17 years Late Adolescence

18 - 21 years Rapid body changes as puberty is in full swing. Very moody. Teens wonder if they are going to be normal. They are very sensitive to their changing body and often measure their physical appearance and skills against idealized images. This is especially true of girls, who tend to be less satisfied with their body image and most constantly want to lose weight. The majority of changes associated with puberty have taken place Physiological development is generally complete. Greater emotional stability Height may continue to develop for a short time in males. Begins to show concern for their body as rapid changes occur; shyness, blushing, modesty, and the need for privacy. Adolescents at this age are very concerned with their physical appearance and believe that others are also concerned. Greater time is invested in grooming, exercising, and experimenting with new images such as makeup and clothing styles. This is done with the purpose of developing a satisfying and realistic body image. Less concerned about their body as puberty ends Curiosity about sexual matters begins. Teens begin having new feelings, which are usually centered around their own bodies, rather than developing sexual relationships with the opposite sex. Their sexual curiosity is often expressed by affection for remote and desirable people, such as teen idols, rock band members, and movie stars. Begins to have increased concerns about their own sexual attractiveness with a movement towards heterosexuality and some have concerns about attraction to same sex. Tenderness is shown toward the opposite sex with frequently changing relationships. Sexuality is a major preoccupation for the middle adolescent. Develops clear sexual identity. Is very concerned about serious relationships and develops the capacity for tender and sensual love. Young teens would much rather be with their friends than their family, especially their parents. Realizes parents are not perfect and often points out their faults. Searches for new adults to confide in instead of parents. They often need a "hero" or an adult to look up today. Experiences of middle adolescents are broadened by their relationships with adults outside the family. This exposes them to new and unfamiliar situations and lifestyles. These may be frightening to the middle adolescent causing them to begin to worry about the separation process, They often write down their inner thoughts and feelings in a diary. Adolescents in this age group often turn back to the family and realize that their parents can be their best friends. This is especially true if both the adolescent and parent show mutual respect for each other. The peer group fades in importance and is replaced by a few good friends. Young adolescents may be quick to disagree with parents and take the opposite view on an issue to test parental values. They will often cast away hobbies or objects that link them to their childhood. Shows parents less attention and is may be rude to them. Complains that parents interfere with their independence. Teens during this stage experience the most conflict with their parents. There is a lowered opinion of parents and withdrawal from them. Achieving independence from their parents is particularly important to a middle adolescent. Annoying habits, such as refusal to wash, poor manners, vegetarianism, messy rooms, and untidy dress are normal ways in which the middle adolescent tries to become independent. While they still need love and acceptance by their parents, most middle adolescents will hide such needs in an effort to be mature. Young adult will start to listen to parents advice again. They may even seek out their parents opinion as parents accept adolescent as a young adult.Teens this age feel invincible as if nothing bad could possibly happen to them; mostly interested in the present. Young teens may start engaging in risky behaviors such as experimenting with smoking, drugs, sex etc.. Most teens this age still feel invincible and that nothing bad could possibly happen to them. This will cause them to engage in high risk behaviors. Experimentation with alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, and sexual intercourse increases sharply during this stage. Teens this age begin to realize their mortality and begin to worry about the future. Some still think they are invincible. There may be less participation in risky behavior Relationships with parents improve for another reason: The adolescent has established a sense of identity and is no longer threatened by seeking their parents' advice or counseling. Close relationships with peer groups become important at this age. It is important to the young adolescent to fit in and not appear different from his/her peers. Most young teens would rather"hang out" with the same sex friends. Peer group friendships become more intimate with increased sharing of ideas, opinions, and activities. Conformity in behavior and physical appearance (clothes, speech, hair styles, etc.) becomes very important, Friends mean "everything" to the middle adolescent. Picking good friends is important, and loss of friendships can cause serious depression. Strong emphasis on their peer group and the need for peer approval uses much of the teen's energy. Middle adolescents often confide more in each than with their parents Peer group less influential. One on one dating becomes more important, and late adolescents may develop a more intimate relationship with someone. Quick to demonstrate feelthrough behavior (acting-out). They become frustrated and anxious because of lack of experience and inability to cope with certain events and problems. , They have rigid concepts of right and wrong. Begins better use of speech to express themselves; less acting out of feelings. Increased ability to control their impulses, resolve conflicts, and say no to peer pressure. Has greater ability to express ideas rather than acting out. Their value system is also changing. Often idealistic. Causes are embraced with conviction. Peer-group relationships are replaced by individual friendships. Has varying interests in future; some are unrealistic (rock start, astronaut, etc.)Most begin to think about future vocation. Begins to think seriously about career goals; Very concerned about the future; World of work becomes very real for those who do not plan for college. Special athletic, artistic, academic, or musical talents may emerge Encouragement of any special athletic, artistic, academic, or musical talents may help develop a good self-esteem. Encouragement of any special athletic, artistic, academic, or musical talents will help develop a good self-esteem. Vacillation between considerable maturity and babyness; secretive "clams up at home" talkative but not communicative; often giggly; Usually unwilling to compromiseHave poor concept of cause and effect causing many middle adolescents to be unable to link driving while drinking with auto accidents and sexual intercourse with pregnancy or STD'sRapidly emerging ability to make independent decisions and to compromise - but they still have a long way to go. Takes pride in their work and some can be self-reliant.

I would say different ! It is never ok to feel other boy's penises unless they have given permission for you to do this. Also you should not do this even with permission if you or they are below the age of consent for sexual activity in your area. Experimentation does not give you the right to do things that are illegal.

What signals the onset of puberty in girls?

Everyone is different but the usual signs are facial hair, pubic hair, deepening of voice, acne and body odor. One of the first visible signs of puberty in boys is that your testes and scrotum begin to get larger and hang lower. This happens so that your testes can hang away from your body because they produce sperm better if they a little cooler than the rest of your body. This change tends to occur before any penis or hair growth.

What is the order of puberty?

Yes. 5 of them, called the Tanner Stages of puberty. Search "Tanner Stages" on any major search engine for more details. It depends on who you ask. Some definitions of puberty make it a moment, or a point of development, at which the individual is capable of reproduction. In girls, it is generally marked as the first mentruation, although technically she was capable of being impregnated a couple of weeks prior. In boys, it is a little more difficult to say when he is capable of delivering viable sperm, but first ejaculation is probably as good a marker as any. In this definition, puberty is preceded by pre-pubesence and followed by adolescence, the phase between puberty and adulthood. The Tanner Stages span all these.

There is nothing to hurt really. Puberty is just the process of growing from child to adult. It's when your body changes and grows bigger. Your brain develops too. You may get a bit dizzy when you jump about but hurt, I don't think so.

Most people know they have stopped growing when they don't see any increase in size for an extended period of time, often in their late teens to early twenties. well i have experienced what your going through and, if you research it, your seman is full of zinc which is also stored in your pituitary gland, and every time you may possibly masturbate, you release that, so it is never released naturally so, it wont fasten your puberty up but it will be much faster than doing nothing, so you can take like a vitamin table with zinc in for a week or so (read everything on the container incase of allergies), widthout masturbating and if you do this in the midst of some signs of puberty, then you will see the difference.
