Publix complies with all state and local ordinances in each location it operates in. That means if your state, county, or city has an ordinance for minimum age, then Publix hires with that ordinance in mind.

Simply put, you must have your work permit and the permissions to work if you are under 18. If your state has a minimum age of 14, then you must have the paperwork in order to be hired. Some states have 14,15, or 16 as the minimum requirement. Check with your school or state employment office for the complete rules.

After the initial application at the kiosk, it may take as long as a month for the staff to get back to you, depending on the needs of the store. However, do not be discouraged, simply reapply. If you are serious about working at Publix, it sometimes takes persistance. There are many who initially look wonderful on paper, but for other reasons, do not work out.
