It's pretty easy on an aircooled engine. The bolt that holds it on doesn't get very tight, so what you need to do is to lock the crank pulley somehow--I've done it by just squeezing the belt together real tight with my hand--and removing the bolt with a 30mm socket. If you stil On a watercooled engine you'll need an impact wrench. In either case, once the bolt is out the pulley slides off the crank. You might need a puller on a watercooled engine; I never have used one on an aircooled engine--you can normally just wiggle the pulley a little and it slides off. Helpful hint: on an aircooled car put a little high-temp grease on the end of the crank before you put the pulley back on. There's a Woodruff key in there so it won't spin around, but it will make getting it on and off easier. I wouldn't do it on a watercooled car because on those there isn't anything to keep the pulley from spinning except for LOTS and LOTS of torque on the bolt.

Ooo,...this sound like it would be fun! Well probably one of the most interesting things about pullys is that if the pully is on the movable part of the line it provides you with a mechanical advantage of 50%! That is to say, properly set up you can lift a 10 pound weight with just 5 pounds of force. If the pully isn't moveable it only provides a fixed point from which to change the direction of pull and no mechanical advantage at all! In this it take 10 lbs of force to move a 10 lb weight. This should be pretty easy to show a 3rd grader and fun too!

Use a rattle gun if the engine is out. If its still in the car disconnect the disributer. Put a powerbar and socket on the pulley and lean on the xmember. Crank the engine over over for a split second. Heaps more info on forums. Google it or look on the gtr forum.

If it is a push lawnmower, probably (Although I have seen one with an electric starter). If it is a riding mower, probably not. On a push mower, the hub where the blade is bolted onto is attached to the engine driveshaft via a keyway and a fastener (nut). Therefore, the blade is not driven by a pulley. On the contrary, on a riding mower, the blades are usually driven by a belt that transfers motion from the engine shaft pulley to another pulley that spins the blade(s).

Many companies offer an oversized pulley for a S/C if you want to change your boost range and shift it a little higher in the RPMS.
