She will tell you to see if there are any survivors. Go dig around at the furthest edge to the south west of Haven Isle. [directly across from the sailboat in the water.] Then go back and give Ruthie whatever you find. There should 42 Doubloons there. Give them to Ruthie and you'll complete the quest. Now you should be able to do Xyzzy's quest if you talk to Ruthie again.
