What odor does propyl acetate have According to lab professor this is supposed to smell like raspberries My sample smelled like nail polish remover All research I find says a pear odor?

pears

Certainly pears is found in many textbooks as the associated scent for n-propyl acetate and many noses may agree with this comparison. Personally I found it to smell very similar to acetone, and in fact the fine folks at DOW Chemical (and BASF) seem to be of the same opinion.

"N-propyl acetate is a colorless,

volatile solvent with an odor similar to

acetone. It has good solvency power

for many natural and synthetic resins.

It is miscible with many organic

solvents."

- DOW MSDS for n-Propyl Acetate

"n-Propyl acetate is a clear, volatile,

mobile liquid with a characteristic odour

reminiscent of acetone. It is miscible with

many common solvents, e. g. alcohols, ketones,

aldehydes, ethers, glycols and glycol ethers,

but it is only sparingly soluble in water. "

Can you plant red raspberries next to black raspberries?

couldn't see why not... just give them room so they don't mix, you can possibly put pebbles or a barrier around the plant to keep it tame. you can also keep it tame by gentally tying the plant to wooden stick.

The above information is incorrect. I work at a nursery. You shouldn't plant red and black raspberries anywhere near each other. Black raspberries contain a virus that is harmless to themslves, yet destructive to the red raspberries. I believe it is recommended that they be planted around 700 feet apart to prevent contamination.

What vitamins and minerals are in raspberries?

What climate does raspberries grow in?

Raspberries grow in a moist, temperate climate; they are native to Western Europe and the Eastern United States. Wild raspberries will naturally bloom through the summer but the fruit is now commercially produced year-round. Raspberry bushes need ample sunlight and water, fertilized soil and lots of space where they can take over--because they will.

Raspberries are often planted in the winter, while dormant, and need a raised bed for better drainage (they are prone to root rot). The plant should be fertilized from the spring until the fruit blooms, mid-summer through early fall. It is ripe for picking when it reaches a full red (purple or black) color and falls easily off the stem.

What is the scientific name for raspberries?

The raspberries belong to a genus called Rabus, with some specific examples of species including R. idaeus and R. strigosus.
