Why is there water collecting in the bottom of the refrigerator?
It may be that the drain line in the back that allows the water to drain from the self-defrosting freezer has become blocked. You can take the hose loose and suck it clean with a wet-dry vac or even a good turkey baster. If you are careful, you might be able to break up the plug with a straightened-out coat hanger but you need to be careful to not poke a hole through the hose.
Can you run your refrigerator without the evaporator fan for a day or so?
Yes You can run your refrigerator for a few days without the cooling fan running. But your cooling efficiency will not be enough to keep food at a safe storage temperature. You will not be able to keep your food storage below 50 degrees or so. Also the running temperature of the compressor will raise and begin to self destruct. As soon as you notice this happening, call a reputable service man as soon as possible.

When we buy fresh bread that we don;t need straight away we put it ina plastic bag and then freeze, 3 days later after thawing it is still nice fresh bread !

No, but refrigerating NiMh/NiCd batteries will increase their shelf life. Never freeze batteries.
It is only dangerous if the can has been opened. It is very unwise to store an opened tin can in the fridge. Nasty bacterial growth.
Why does milk last longer in a fridge than at room temperature?

If it is a "frost free" fridge-freezer, try DEFROSTING IT. Ice can build up out of site and stop cold air circulating in fridge. I had this problem and after defrosting it now works fine.

when cold and warm air mix together it makes moisture and the moisture go around the can since it is filled with water. :)

Why do rubber bands last longer in the fridge?
This actually has to do with the very complex way a rubber band behaves. In all things, entropy is usually the boss, meaning, when things are at their most basic broken down state, they tend to last longer. And anything at a higher more complex state will tend to have a much shorter life span. Such is the same for a rubber band, when a rubber band is stretched it causes its polymer chains to become very ordered and it expels thermal energy (heat) thus shortening its life. But when a rubber band is in its relaxed state it is very unordered, and will cool when going from a structured state to a relaxed state. So when a rubber band is put in the refrigerator it makes the polymers even more relaxed, because of the way they behave in the cold. But something to be careful of is immediately stretching the rubber band after being in the fridge. This will cause it to weaken significantly because of the rapid change in the contrast of states.
