The repossession industry employs a group of people known only as skip tracers. Most people have no idea what a skip tracer does. Most skip tracers will not tell you what it is they do other than the the effect they find things. Skip tracers are typically highly skilled people who do just that, find things.

Having worked in the industry as a skip tracer, I can state that I have found vehicles that have been out for repossession for as little as 24 hours and as long as seven years. I literally found one vehicle that was being hidden in the barn of the debtor's wife's brother's wife's parent's barn, and had been there just shy of seven years. The repossession company picked it up seven years to the day of the notice of repossession.

When the vehicle is recovered, it is taken to a lot, inventoried, and eventually taken to auction. The amount received at auction is applied to the amount owed, including repo fees and collection fees. In the event the lender obtained a judgment against you for the unpaid balance, they have 10 years from the date the auction proceeds were applied to the loan. If there is no judgment, they have 7 years.

Repossession agents are not typically paid a salary, nor are they typically paid hourly. Repossession is a per unit business. That is, the repo man is paid by the vehicles he recovers. Amounts vary by the individual business.

If you want to be charged with making a false report on top of losing your car. If it has been repossessed legally, you have no real claim on it and aren't supposed to find it. Pay what is owed on it and whoever has it must produce the car.

Yes they can but if they start harrassing you after you ask them to leave and they dont leave you can either call security and have 'em escorted out or you can call the police and they will make him leave, now if you are hiding the car on purpose it is a felony in some states so be careful what you say :-) the police are there to help you so dont be afraid to stand up for yourself :-)

Typically it takes up to 5 months of no Payments for Capital One Auto Finance to decide to repo. Whether its the same of home and other Finances I do not know however, when the 5 month mark hits, they will begin paperwork and by the 6th month you will have your possessions taken.

No such thing as in repossession. Its either repoed or its not. If its not, you are free to do what you want with it unless you signed a contract agreeing otherwise.
