Can scabies live in a freezer?

Yes, it's recommended that you freeze anything you can overnight (8+hrs). I have put my pillow, sheets, and clothing that I would wear whilst I awaited the perm cream (Rx) to take affect. Then just slept on the couch over the next 36+hrs to avoid coming in contact with the mites again. They cannot live outside the body for any longer, so simply quarantine yourself accordingly while using the freezing method. Scabies can also be gotten rid of by boiling, but that's too much work when you have a freezer :) I steamed my floors with one of those Shark branded floor cleaners daily as well and froze my shoes every night while alternating between pairs until the 36+hrs passed.

Can you give a girl jock itch?

Jock itch on a man (Trichophyton rubrum) is mildly contagious - it will cause the same infection on women. The rash from jock itch will be red, tan or brown and skin will appear to be dry and cracking, rippling and peeling.

A woman with a yeast infection (Candida albicans) will spread the infection to her sexual partner, about 15% of the time. The fungus that causes a yeast infection will cause a red and wet looking rash.

Condoms are helpful in preventing the spread of either fungus. For either infection, keeping the skin dry and clean is your best defense, Allowing the area to "air out" can be a huge help. After bathing, air dry for as long as you can. Wearing 100% cotton underwear and pants will help the skin stay healthy, in warm or cold weather. Change out of a wet bathing suit or workout clothing as soon as possible.

Once infected by yeast, the use of OTC medication such as Monistat (which comes with a topical anti-itch cream) is equally effective for women or men. Follow the directions on the box, use for the full treatment (3 to 7 days).

The commonly used OTC medications Lamisil, Micatin and Lotrimin are effective in clearing the fungus from jock itch 50% of the time. Use the medication for a full 2 weeks, if needed for a persistent infection, use for 2 more weeks. Some fungal infections require stronger medication such as Nystatin or oral medications such as Flucon available by prescription.

As soon as treatment begins, wash all towels and sheets in hot water and bleach - for 20 minutes, use the second rinse option. Use the hottest, water appropriate with bleach, for clothing. Change any clothing that comes in contact with infected skin with each application of anti-fungal.

How long are scabies contagious after treatment?

Scabies are usually contagious about 40 days before you know you have them. They die within about 10 hours of being treated and are then no longer contagious. They don't like to live on fabric and if they can't find a human they will die off on clothes in about 4 days.

Is it normal for your belly to itch during pregnancy?

Mine itched terribly when I was pregnant. It was from my skin stretching. Get a really good lotion like Eucerin or something with vitamin E and rub it on your belly a couple times a day. It will also help your stretch marks after your baby is born if you continue to use it.

Yes many women experience itching skin while pregnant. I recommend using a lotion with vitamin E or a pure cocoa butter lotion it definitely will help with stretch marks, Although I do not reccommend Palmer's lotions I have found them very dissatisfactory along with many of my other friends who have used them... !!

Take care, stretch marks certainly make your stomach itch, but there is a liver condition that can make your skin itch all over so if that happens go to the doctor.

Describe jock itch?

A fungal infection of the groin.

Jock itch is a pretty common fungal infection of the groin and upper thighs. It's part of a group of fungal skin infections called tinea. The medical name for jock itch is tinea cruris (pronounced: tih-nee-uh krur-us).

Jock itch, like other tinea infections, is caused by several types of mold-like fungi called dermatophytes (pronounced: dur-mah-tuh-fites). All of us have microscopic fungi and bacteria living on our bodies, and dermatophytes are among them. Dermatophytes live on the dead tissues of your skin, hair, and nails and thrive in warm, moist areas like the insides of the thighs. So, when the groin area gets sweaty and isn't dried properly, it provides a perfect environment for the fungi to multiply and thrive.

Does prescription drug Cymbalta cause itching?

I have been on cymbalta for some time and I do have times when I feel itchy all over. I also, on more than one occasion, get blistery itchy bumps. At first I thought it was poison ivy. The first time, it was a large patch from my wrist to my elbow and it crusted over. Now it's like it lies dormat and when I get stressed out I get a patch on my arm. Sometimes it really itches and sometimes it doesn't at all. Originally I thought maybe the meds made me more sensitive to the sun but it's happened when I haven't been in the sun uncovered. I finally came to the conclusion it was the cymbalta. I was off it for a year and never had the problem but it returned when I started taking it again.

How do you get rid of bumps in the pubic hair region that itches sometimes?

== == You really can't. You PROBABLY could put an anti-acne cream down there but it is not advisable because you risk genital infection. The bumps and pimples are a sign of irritation. This is because that area has never been touched or shaved before. The first time you shave, irritation will show and you will itch between your legs for several days. The bumps and itching should go away after several days. However, you may have consistently have bumps from time to time because obviously sweat down there throughout the day. If you consistently shave on a regular basis, (keep the hair from growing back), itching and bumps should become less of a problem

There are also products like Venereal Mountain Mist which are pretty good at helping to reduce razor burn and minimize those bumps. It's all natural and has simple ingredients that have show effective over years and years of use.

If you are pregnant would anywhere on your body itch?

Hello.

Body itching isn't usually a pregnancy symptom but some pregnant women do experience itchy breasts and nipples.

If you are in the late second or third trimester and you are itchy get to the doctor IMMEDIATELY as this can be a symptom of liver problem.

Hi,

I would just like to add that when I was pregnant with my son, although he was 3 weeks premature, during the last 3-4 weeks of pregnancy I had a bumpy, pinkish rash below my elbow, on the inside of my arm, and also on several of my fingers. The only reason I know it was something to do with the pregnancy and not a regular rash or allergic reaction is because once I gave birth to him, within a few hours the rash was gone. I was putting on a prescription cream before that and, although it helped the itching, it didn't help it go away.

I still joke with my husband about being "allergic" to pregnancy. LOL

Has anyone who has stopped taking seroquel cold turkey had non-stop itching especially at night?

Answer Seroquel and itchingThe itching is apparently caused by a reaction your body is having to withdrawal from the Seroquel. In addition to the other effects of the drug, it acts as a mild anti-histamine, so all this time that you have been taking Seroquel, you have been dosing yourself against an allergic reaction you weren't actually having. It is really awful to go through these withdrawal itches... I'm actually having one as I'm writing this on the palm of my hands. It started a couple of days after I quit Seroquel 50mg XR cold turkey. I got so itchy all over my body and scratched so hard that I broke blood vessels under my skin. It is ferocious and has moved around my arms, legs, back, scalp, and palms. I have a large tattoo on my back, and I have found that since I quit the Seroquel it has become raised and irritated.

The experts suggest that you avoid certain food and drink that can make the itch worse, like coffee, beer, and super sugary snacks, but in reality, if you are experiencing the withdrawals like I am, these things feel pretty necessary right now, and I'm not too keen to give them up. I've found that taking an allergy pill/anti-histamine helps quell the itch, as does submerging your body in a hot bath. I'm sure that the Aveeno oatmeal bath designed to help alleviate itch is probably also helpful in easing the incredible itches.

Also, watch for nausea, night-time vomiting, and a sudden sensitivity to every bug that is floating around, (I quit Seroquel two weeks ago, and in addition to still having symptoms like the itchiness, I have also had the flu and just got a cold). This wouldn't be weird, except that while I was on the Seroquel, I swear I was sort of superhuman in terms of what I could put my body through and still feel well. It might just have been that I was sleeping so much on it. Eventually though, I realized that I wasn't 'myself' on the pill. I kept having ideas that I was going to get better and feel better, but I couldn't follow through on anything, and wasn't inspired whatsoever, and felt like a loser. Since stopping the pill, I really feel like I am coming back to myself. I am still taking Cipralex for my bi-polar, but after learning that Seroquel was dangerous for some people long term and would make it near impossible to have a baby on it, I decided it was time to give it up.

I'm glad I did. Despite the terrible itch.

Does Herion based ecstasy make you itch?

Really, really good heroin makes you itchy all over. As soon as you smoke a couple of hits of really good heroin, your whole body starts itching all over. This is true of other strong opiates, too (like morphine and oxycodone).

The reason is that heroin releases histamines in your body (histamines are what produce physiological symptoms like a runny nose, sneezing, etc., in order to flush out bacteria and viruses. They are your body's response to, and defense against, invading bacteria and viruses.) Basically, heroin releases these histamines, which trick your body into thinking it's itchy.

Why does your tattoo raise up and itch?

O.K., a professional tattooist will always shave the skin before he tattoos it...And anyone who has shaved an erogenous zone will know it itches when the hair grows back....Now add to that the feeling of the skin healing, which is marked by being very itchy, and you have a double-itch whammy...BUT, dont scratch it! As this will disturb the top layer of skin which will be re-forming...Try this instead...Slap it with short popping slaps, not hard enough to bruise, of course, but it will help satisfy the itch...Or pour some rubbing alcohol on it....By the time it starts itching it shouldn't burn it but will help cool and satisfy the itch....Hope this helps
