What is standardized variables?
A variable that has been transformed by multiplication of all scores by a constant and/or by the addition of a constant to all scores. Often these constants are selected so that the transformed scores have a mean of zero and a variance (and standard deviation) of 1.0.
Francesco Redi and Louis Pasteur disproved spontaneous generation.
Redi experimented with raw meat in two flasks: one with and one without a top. He left the meat sitting in each flask for a few days and the one without the top had maggots and the one with the top had no maggots. Many people disregarded his experiment and kept thinking living things came from nonliving things.
Pasteur experimented a few years later with two swan necked flasks and broth from a soup. One flask was tilted and the other wasn't. In the tilted flask the broth was fogged with microorganisms and the other flask was the same as before. Not only did he disprove spontaneous generation, but he was believed and came up with the theory of biogenesis which means all living organisms came from other living organisms.
Hope I helped :D
Write the reaction when ammonium phosphate is put into water?
A strong electrolyte dissociates completely into ions in aqueous solution. When ammonium nitrite, a strong electrolyte, is put into water the cations and anions are surrounded by water molecules and the solid dissolves.
NH4NO2(s) NH4+(aq) + NO2-(aq)
We represent this state by the symbol "(aq)" to indicate that the ions are in aqueous solution.
What is the characteristic property of water?
The characteristic property of water is its high polarity, which results in hydrogen bonding between water molecules. This gives water its unique properties such as high surface tension, cohesion, and ability to dissolve many substances.
What is the chemical reaction when a bath bomb touches water?
it would be combustion
3NaHCO3 + C6H8O7 ---> C6H5Na3O7 + 3CO2 + 3H2O
When a chemical reaction has CO2 and H2O in it, its then stated as a combustion.
Why does heat energy flow from warm areas to cooler areas?
Nature always tries to come to an state of equilibrium. Water flows from a higher to a lower level. Electricity flows from a higher potential to a lower potential. Thus heat is transferred from a warmer to a colder area until an equilibrium is reached.
What is an example of an opaque object?
An opaque object is any object you cannot see through, such as a book. When a material is opaque, it reflects or absorbs all light that strikes it. Other examples of opaque objects: a mirror, a wooden floor.
Within programming, an opaque object may be a datastructure that shares the characteristic that one cannot see through it and thus cannot change its inner properties without using functions designed for the purpose. This may be accomplished in several ways depending on the programming language, for example by using private properties, making it syntactically impossible to refer to the inner properties, or by specifying that the structure of a certain object is implementation-specific, so that when conforming to some standard or specification, code becomes implementation-specific unless strictly using standard- or specification-specific functions.
The opposite of opaque is transparent.

Does sound travel more slowly through a given medium with a low temperature or high temperature?
Sound travels more slowly through a medium when it is at a low temperature because in a low temperature the molecules move slower and in a high temperature the molecules move faster. For Example: ice that is frozen and boiled water in ice the water doesn't move as fast so the molecules were slower than in the boiled water. HOPE I HELPED YOU!!
What does procedure mean in science projects?
I change the word "proceures" into "procedures." Generally speaking, it means what you used (materials) and how you used them (procedures) to conduct your experiment. Two people may conclude opposite effects doing an experiment, but when the procedures are examined, you may find that different "things" (with the same name) are done.
Pollock is the common name given to two spieces of fish found in the Atlantic Ocean, they are Pollachius pollachiusand Pollachius virens.
What does it mean to have a controlled scintific expiriment?
In a controlled experiment, the experimenter creates two groups. One is the control group, and no treatment is given to that group...it remains unmodified. The other is called the experimental group, and that group has a modified treatment relative to the context of the experiment.
For example, if you wanted to determine whether a chemical X would enhance or hinder the growth of a particular plant, you would set aside a control group that would receive standard water and sunlight, and you would create an experimental group that would get water, sunlight, and chemical X.
This way, you isolate all other variables but the addition of chemical X, and you can determine whether or not it has an effect on the variable being tested.
(This is for saprophyte fungi)
1. They secrete enzymes into their food (dead plant or animal matter) through the hyphae
2. The enzymes break down the food into soluable pieces
3. They ingest the food (again, through the hyphae)
This simple process gives them all the nutrients they need for energy and health.
Does different coloured surfaces affect the rate at which ice cubes melt?
This is a really good question and the answer is quite straight-forward:
First it's important to note that in absolute dark different colours would have no effect on the rate of melting, the rate is dependent on the wavelengths and intensity of the light the surface is exposed to.
If we assume we have two surfaces, one red and one black, and we expose both surfaces to red light of the same intensity. On which surface do you think the ice would melt faster?
The red surface will reflect the red light, however the black surface will absorb the red lightcausing the black surface to increase in temperature. So the ice will melt faster on the black surface.
When does the scientific community accept the results of a scientific experiment?
after it has been tested against a control group with stats
Can a battery make a pickle light up?
You need quite a bit of electricity to get the pickle to glow (generally on one side only). It takes a lot of electrical current to make the sodium ions excited. It usually requires running AC current directly from a standard household outlet, which is very dangerous. This is one demonstration I won't do as a teacher, but show a video of it instead.
What metric unit would you use to measure the area of your classroom?
The metric unit of the meter would be the appropriate measure of the area of classroom. Calculating area involves multiplying the length (in meters) of the classroom's length and width. Area of the classroom would be in square (^2) meters.
What do you call the outcome or end result of an experiment?
This is the variable which changes as a result of what you change in the experiment. If you change the height from which you drop a ball, you may observe the height to which it bounces. The height of the bounce is the outcome variable.
What should you do for your science fair project if you are in the seventh grade?
As a 7th grader, also looking for a science fair project, I bet you are wanting to do something fun, simple, and that has a good chance of becoming award winning...
Right???
Well if so, here's my ideas:
1)NOT A VOLCANO...everybody does that in like the 2nd grade. It's so gay.
2)Somehting you like or are interested in like a sport or some kind of food, ETC.
3)If you can't think of anything either you are retarded or you just simpley not trying hard enough....
Sorry if I didn't help you but one more tip:BE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR PROJECT BUT ALSO HAVE FUN!!! Just remember that it's better than writig notes for the houur of Science class...lol
here are some websites for some ideas

What causes the nuclear force?
The nuclear force, also known as the strong nuclear force, is caused by the exchange of particles called gluons between quarks inside protons and neutrons. This force is responsible for binding protons and neutrons together in the atomic nucleus.
What temperature does a brass cartridge melt?
Not all brass is made the same way. The melting point of red brass is 1,832 degrees Fahrenheit. The melting point of yellow brass is 1,660-1,710 degrees Fahrenheit, and the melting point of admiralty brass is 1,650-1,720 degrees Fahrenheit.
What is the formula to calculate kinetic energy?
The formula to calculate kinetic energy is KE = 0.5 * m * v^2, where KE represents kinetic energy, m is the mass of the object in motion, and v is the velocity of the object. The formula shows that kinetic energy is directly proportional to the mass of the object and the square of its velocity. This means that an increase in either mass or velocity will result in a corresponding increase in kinetic energy.
