What is a factor that cannot be changed during a experiment?

A constant factor is one maintained unchanged throughout an experiment so that it does not affect the outcome. These are also referred to as controlled variables.

How did the result of gold foil experiment lead Rutherford to recognize the existence of atomic nuclei?

By beaming alpha particles through gold foil and witnessing some of them deflecting, there had to be a mass larger than an alpha particle in the atomic structure. This disproved the plum pudding theory of the atom, as electrons would not have had enough mass to deflect the larger alpha particles.

Mechanical energy is a term that is used to describe?

Mechanical energy is the sum of kinetic energy and potential energy of some object. So any object in motion, has potential to be in motion, or has both has mechanical energy.

Your car in motion has kinetic energy and potential for more kinetic energy in the gasoline that it runs on. So your car has mechanical energy. Or you up on the three-meter diving board at the pool have potential for kinetic energy when you take a swan dive off that board. You have mechanical energy there.

But, bottom line, pretty much any object that is either in motion or can be put into motion has a form of mechanical energy.

Why is ice in liquid water at 0 degrees an example of physical equilibrium?

This is an example of physical equilibrium, because if you look at the two phases (physical property) of water at zero degrees C, they both exist. At 0ºC, the molecules of water go back and forth between being a liquid and a solid, thus the equilibrium.

Why is it important to wear goggles while doing an experiment?

So you do not get any harmful chemicals in your eyes that could make you blind. Also to protect your eyes from other dangers that creep in the lab.

What is a zebras size?

Zebra's that live in the Plains of Africa are on an average about 50-52 inches (1.3 meters) tall at their shoulder. Their body length is approximately between 6 to 8.5 feet (2 to 2.6 m) with a tail that is an additional 18 inches in length. Zebras can weigh upto 770 pounds (350 kgs) or more. Males are usually slightly bigger & heavier than females.

Substance with a definite shape and volume?

Items like H2O and CoC2 have a definite chemical composition, and require exact amount of particles to forma reaction. However; particles which are soluble in water do not have a definite chemical reaction.

What is a catchy title for a science project about fire?

If it is simply on tornadoes in general I would recommend something such as "Tornadoes: The Most Violent Storms on Earth"

It would be different if the project focuses on some particular aspect of tornadoes.

What substances pass through the stem of a vascular plant?

Primarily water passes through the stem of a vascular plant. However, minerals from the soil, which are absorbed by the plant's roots, also travel through the stem.

What type of energy is found in the food you eat?

The simple answer is potential or stored energy. More complexely, chemical energy- energy is stored within bonds holding together mollecules of protein, fats, and sugars. Actually, sugars are the primary source of energy for living beings, which convert glucose mollecules (C6H12O6) and oxygen into H2O, CO2, and mollecules called ATP or adenosine triphosphate which are used to perform many tasks in the body. this is called glycolysis.

How do you calculate the weight of milk?

The density of milk (g/L) changes with temperature.

For example, the denisty of milk = 1.003073 - 0.000179t - 0.000368F + 0.00374N,

where t = temperature in degrees C; F = percent fat; and N = percent nonfat solids There are several other equations, i have not studied this yet. I found this online http://classes.ansci.uiuc.edu/ansc438/Milkcompsynth/milkcomp_density.html

Is fructose a pure substance?

Yes, fructose is considered a pure substance. It is a simple sugar (monosaccharide) that can be found naturally in fruits and honey. It is a single type of molecule with a specific chemical structure, making it a pure substance.

What separate a hypothesis from a prediction?

Both terms are sometimes used interchangeably, but "hypothesis" is more specific. It refers to a certain kind of prediction that is based on extensive research. Usually, a hypothesis will also need to explain itself. After experiments have been conducted, the hypothesis will either be supported or not supported by the results. A prediction does not necessarily require the research and support that a hypothesis needs.

How can you do a good project for your science fair?

well idk a good sciene project maybe egg in a bottle you can ask or Google that if you like!

It takes alot of effort and hard work and alot of commitement to make a science fair project. It also takes alot of time to do it and you must use your time wisely.

But the most important thing of all is:you have to believe in yourself and believe that you CAn do it just as long as you set your mind to it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck,Ariana Navarro

Google doesn't do any thing exspecially if it is to tomarrow.

What chemical test could be used to confirm that the gas prodced in a chemical reaction is carbon dioxide?

The gas yielded from a chamical reaction should be allowed to pass through clean lime water. If the gas is CO2, it turns lime water milky by formation of CaCO3. This is the confirmatory test for CO2 gas

The statement that an object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by a force is what?

This is a partial statement of Newton's first law of motion, which states that a body at rest will remain at rest and a body in motion will remain in motion at constant velocity in a straight line unless acted upon by an outside force.

Does andesite cool quickly or slowly?

Lava will cool quickly compared to underground magma.

Why does the field of view decrease as the power of objective lens increase?

There is a relationship between the power of an objective lens and its field of view. As the power of the objective lens increases, the size of its field of view decreases

What are the urban causes of energy crisis?

I have been trying to think of urban causes. As far as I know the present high cost of oil and gas is due to world demand exceeding supply. How could this have an urban cause? Well I suppose large urban conurbations do cause a larger demand for energy than if people lived in remote rural communities, where they used locally cut wood for heating and didn't travel much. Like the Amish for instance. In an urban situation in a hot climate, people demand air conditioning, which uses a lot of energy and causes thermal pollution. This must apply to the extreme in Phoenix for instance. Also in large urban areas travel by car to get to work or do any shopping is essential, whereas in a small country town you are more likely to be able to walk or cycle and hence use less energy

Is this the sort of thing you had in mind?

Give more example of a malleable materials?

Malleable materials are pliable and capable of being hammered out of shape without cracking or breaking. Some examples include: gold, aluminum, lead, nickel, copper and iron.

Youngs modulus for wood?

Depends on the concrete

An empirical equation is

4500*sqrt(R)

where R is the nominal compression resistance (usually 30 MPa)

R needs to be expressed in MPa in this equation

Mendel conducted his most memorable experiments on?

Mendel became famous for his study of the pea plant. Gregor Mendel's study of this plant led to significant contributions in the field of genetics and heredity. He is called the" father of modern genetics." Mendel was born in 1822 and died in 1884.
