I have Scoliosis myself and its hard for me to wear things because my curve is easily noticeable. I wear jackets over everything because it covers it up, sweat shirts or jackets are good. dont wear tight shirts if its noticeable because i did and it looked really bad

Currently, artificial disc replacement is considered experimental and is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Most of the research that has been conducted on artificial discs has been carried out in Europe.

Different models have been developed, but the most widely used and known artificial disc is the LINK SB Charite III prosthesis made by Waldemar Link GmbH & Company, Hamburg, Germany. The model consists of two metal metallic plates that have teeth to anchor the implant between the bones or vertebral bodies. Between the two plates is a rubber core made up of polyethylene that allows for motion.

In order to avoid complications that may arise from artificial disc replacement surgery, careful selection of patients by the surgeon is critical. At present, it is thought that the best candidates for spinal disc replacement are adults with a one level symptomatic degenerative disc.

Patients whose bone may not be as strong due to aging, or some other bone disorder, may develop problems if the implant settles into the "soft" bone. Therefore, these individuals are not considered optimal candidates for this type of procedure. Since there can be movement of the implant, patients with a slippage of one vertebra on another (termed "spondylolisthesis") are also not considered candidates for artificial disc replacement. Based on the current research, the clinical diagnoses that seem the most fitting for artificial disc replacement include symptomatic degenerative disc disease and post-discectomy syndrome. Post-discectomy syndrome is persistent back pain following previous surgery to remove a herniated disc.

Patients may also not improve following the procedure and may require additional surgery. Finally, like joint replacement surgery, artificial implants may fail over time due to wear of the materials and loosening of the implants. Therefore, long term studies that track the life span of the implants are needed.

you cant heal it but you could possibly lessen the degree of curvature and slow down the degration with exercise a brace or a shoe lift/insert.They also do some surgeries but if your not too bad you probably dont want that

i did have a surgery and it was worth it cause it really helped me my curve was 70 degrees now its in the 20s. i did were a brace for a few years but it didnt help me if yours gets to at least 45 i recomend surgery cause it really helps!

there isn't any medication for scoliosis but treating it is usually done with a brace or by surgery, in fact i don't know if you can really do much else apart from wait and hope it sorts itself out. Different surgeons do things differently, for example the first spinal specialist i went to see seemed to preffer to use a brace on his paitients and the i got reffered to Southampton where eventually i got opporated on because bracing was unlikely to sort the kind of scoliosis i had out and it would have been uncomfortable for a whole year. i am currently recovering from my opporation and i am glad i had it done.

of course it makes you a little bit shorter if you have something and you bend it, it gets shorter its the same with scoliosis the spine is bent so the body is shorter people who have the correction surgery end up gaining a few inched at the end of it when their spine is straight

Was just diagnosed with a broad based central disc bulge first presenting symptom of this was thigh pain which progressed into radiating pain to my toes and tingling and numbness in my whole leg. I'm no Dr. but they are telling me the pain and numbness is being caused by the bulge pushing into my nerve root.This maybe something to ask your Dr. to check it was very visible in my MRI.

on and off as needed. Bedrest helps as well. Tylenol extra strength.
