Do Seventh-day Adventists believe in actual devils?

Yes, though the definition of "devil" is not a red-skinned being with horns, a tail, and a pitchfork in its hand. For Adventists, Satan is the only person conventionally referred to as "the Devil." But his minions may also take the term, even though "demon" is a more common word for them among Adventists. These beings (Satan included) are merely fallen angels. They have the capability of appearing in many forms, including as angels of light or in the appearance of dead friends and relatives, by which they can confuse people regarding the state of the dead (Adventists believe in what is called "soul sleep", which is the idea that people who die do not go directly to heaven or hell, nor do they hang out on earth as ghosts or transform into angels, but instead "sleep" or cease to exist until the Second Coming when Jesus will raise the saved back to life or until the end of the millennium when the lost will be raised to judgment.)

Do Seventh-day Adventists light Sabbath candles?

There is no candle for Sabbath. Sabbath is a day for worshipping the Lord, starting sundown on Friday, going until sundown on Saturday.

Why don't Seventh-day Adventists believe in ghosts?

There are two aspects to the answer to this question: evil spirits and the state of the dead.

First, Adventists do believe that evil spirits (fallen angels) can appear to people in the form of dead relatives, etc. to scare or confuse them. Adventists believe that evil spirits will do anything they can to impede humanity's salvation, including appearing to them disguised in order to confuse. Adventists also believe that evil spirits have the power to appear in many forms and are not to be taken lightly.

Second, Adventists believe in the concept of soul sleep, which teaches that people who die do not go directly to heaven or hell (or stay on earth as a wandering spirit), but instead cease to exist until the Second Coming of Jesus (when God will resurrect them, basically recreating them). Because any individual who dies is not conscious of the passing of time, the next thing he or she will see is the Second Coming, and that means it is rather similar to being asleep. This is why Adventists do not believe that someone who has died becomes a ghost.

What is the difference between a 7th day Adventist funeral and a Jehovahs Witness funeral?

There are no rituals or traditions in a Jehovah's witness's funeral, The funeral is held whenever it is most convenient. A seventh-day adventist funeral is customarily held a week after the death has occured, it is appropiate that those who assist where black clothing garments, the women wearing sleeves past the elbows and skirts past the knees. No jewelry should be worn. In a Jehovah's witness's funeral there is no need to wear black, most may wear muted tones if they feel more comfortable that way but other colors are optional. Both offer consoling words to the families and aid them afterwards with their needs. Usually if the deceased was a witness then the speaker at the funeral will be someone within the cogregation (called and "elder") who will deliver a talk the whole procession will last about half an hour or so. In the adventist funeral no charitable donations are acceptable to be made. With the witnesses, there is no such rule, they help their spiritual brothers and sister however they see fit based on their needs and they help however they can by offering their services..

How can Pentecostalism share the gospel to Seventh-day Adventists?

As Seventh-day Adventists tend to be knowledgeable about the Bible and believe they have the Gospel (not to mention traditionally being missionary-minded), the idea of someone else needing to share the Gospel with them might be met with surprise. Seventh-day Adventists believe in the death of Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for sin, by which all may be saved, through faith, not to mention the imminent physical return of Jesus, so which gospel would they be receiving that they don't already believe? In fact, several important doctrines are shared between the Pentecostals and Adventists.

What do Adventist believe about image in DANIEL 2?

This question is not hard if you read Daniel Chapter 2. Then in Revelation you shall find confirmation of a similar dream.
Daniel is explaining this Image is made of a head of Gold, (being Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar himself), his breasts are as the arms of Silver, his belly the thighs of Brass, his legs of Iron and part clay. Part Iron and clay means that a Kingdom or image of a beast is both weak and Strong since Iron and clay cannot mix.
Remember, it was a dream of an Image and it is not something tangible but prophetic because
#1 the head--------------------------------------------- Nebuchadnezzar/ King of Babylon
#2 his breasts as arms as silver- The MEDES
#3 Belly and the thighs of brass The Persians
#4 The Legs and feet mixed with Iron and clay The Romans
I learned and studied this in a Seventh Day Adventist Church, but any church who has studied the bible Especially the book of Daniel and the book of Revelation All agree it is a period of time of Kingdoms. It's repeated in about four beasts in revelation.
REMEMBER: In the bible it speaks of many beast, it takes discernment to divide which ones are which ones. because some are good and bad beasts. But most of it is symbolic over a period of time. The time we are still living under is the Four beast, No Not Romans any more but are they? The papacy still speaking words and claims to be the "Vicar". Vicar means God on earth on in place of God
In revelation it talks about "a little horn". This is know to be the Papacy because its sits on seven hills and has dictates rules to leaders. Remember G. W and Clinton when to Rome to see the Smoke come out to see who the new pope is? We are living under leaders who had been perverted but listening to rogue Pope, pastors, type of religion government is under a rule.
The Church of England declared separate from the Papacy long ago, But if you go to the church of England, they have adopted the same rulers called Vicars to interpret the bible for them. No one carries a bible there, nor does a catholic in America.
Not enough space to cover this but please do study Daniel and the revelation over and over again. Talk with others. Don't stop reading and learning.

I almost rolled over in laughter when I heard Newt Gingridge converted to Catholisim

That shows total lak of knowledge or he sold his soul to become some leader, AKA the mark of the beast is a mark of "Authority" he don't mind bowing down to.

Why can't I eat duck according to The Bible?

The answer to your question is founded in Leviticus 11, where our Father (the designer of these flesh bodies) indicates what is healthy for humans to consume and what is not healthy for humans to consume. Its that simple really

Think of it this way ... Cocaine is a great drug, it will make you feel euphoric, full of energy etc. according to medical data. However that feeling only lasts a short time, and it leaves you wanting more and more, until the negative effects of Cocaine use eventually cause death. The same is true of Meth and other abused drugs.

The idea transfers to things one eats, especially those items our Father did not design for human consumption. While consuming them the human will feel irregular or even sickly, eventually however the consumption of non approved foods will take their toll.

Do Seventh-day Adventists vote?

While Seventh-day Adventists are not encouraged to involve themselves in politics, most consider voting to be part of their civic duty. The church stance is that, as long as human law does not conflict with divine law, Seventh-day Adventists should be good citizens and follow the laws of the place they live, as explicitly and implicitly instructed in many parts of the Bible such as Romans 13.

Who do Seventh-Day-Adventist celebrate the Passover?

The SDA belief on the passover is that it was a ceremony pointing to Jesus. The lamb that was killed and used as a mark to protect the children for Israel's first born from death in Egypt, symbolized Jesus, who was also killed. If we accept Jesus in our lives, he will also protect from eternal death. In the last supper, Jesus gave the outline of how we should keep the passover (we call itcommunion). It no longer points to the first coming of Jesus, but now to His second coming. Read Mark 14 for all the details.

Why can't you buy anything after dark if you go to a Seventh-day Adventist church?

There is nothing wrong with buying things after dark, except on Fridays, since the Sabbath is observed from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. Adventists are discouraged from buying or selling on the Sabbath, so they generally would not buy things on Friday nights after sundown unless there were some emergency. But otherwise, they would have nothing against buying things at night on other days of the week.
