What does Shirley Temple wear?
Hi, don't know if you are putting together a "Shirley Temple outfit", but here goes:
As a (beginning) child star, Shirley often wore black Mary Jane-style shoes...of course, she had (many) shoe styles which were compatible with the different outfits she wore in her films.
Very famous were the white high-tops she wore in 1938...she was about 9 (actually 10) at the time. Don't know if she needed ankle support at the time (she started wearing these I believe in 1938's Just Around the Corner, during which she did a (mostly) swing style dance number, and also a soft-shoe--but not a riveting tap number (with Bill Bojangles Robinson, who had performed great tap routines with her in previous films).
It was said that the white high-tops were the start of the typical white high-tops for toddlers (previous to that, babies and toddlers may have worn the black/brown high-top with side buttons, so commonly seen in period photos).
In the mid 1940's, Shirley favored (and looked great in) t-strap, espadrill-styled-heel, sandal/shoes.
Later in life she did not seem to favor any particular shoe style.

Shirley Temple never attended college, though producer David Selznick, who had her under contract (film Since You Went Away) in the mid-1940's, gave her the option of doing so. She chose to marry (actor John Agar) instead. Westlake Shcool for girls was her final school (she graduated high school there in 1944 or 1945, and married her first husband shortly thereafter in late 1945). At the age of three Temple began dance classes at Meglin's Dance School in Los Angeles California. What is Shirley Temple's favorite food and favorite color?
When Shirley was tiny, her hair was blonde (as her Mother's had been as a young child.) Shirley's hair, as her child star years progressed, was said (at a certain point) to be lightened by her mother with a gentle peroxide (hair) dye/lightener.
As Shirley grew slightly older (approx late 1937) her hair was left naturally darker...it was said to be a brown with reddish/rusty streaks/highlights. On film (late 1937/1938) it looked as if it were brown. (In 1939's color film Little Princess Shirley seemed to have very reddish hair.)
By 1944 (as a teenager) her hair was red, slightly auburn...her first husband nicknamed her "Red."
When Shirley married her second husband Charles Black, her hair seemed black in color. (Also her face makeup was much more heavily applied and darker.)
When she branched out somewhat on her own (political career as ambassador) her hair seemed brown with a reddish rinse(?), very pretty.
