You can find these numbers in the manual that come with your gun. They are also present on the handle of the gun.

Your A-5 was made in 1965 and it says light 20 on the non bolt side of the receiver. Too many variables to determine value. Original Vent Rib, No Pad, condition etc. Give me a call at 417-830-5588 and I will try to help.

The western field model m550cr shotgun was made in the U.S.A. at montgomery wards around 1950. One of the very few shotguns to have a c-lect or select choke on it. Though it is a cheap gun today, it is one of the finest shooting out there. I know this because I own one myself. I hope this helped you.

The Savage Model 550 was manufactured between 1971-1973, not many were produced. The barrels are made by Valmet (Finland). In very good to excellent condition the price ranges from $400-$500. They have a single trigger, auto ejectors, checkering and light engraving. A very nice shotgun for the price.

Serial numbers were not required on long arms before Jan 1, 1969. Most manufacturers did not assign serial numbers to small caliber rifles or utility shotguns.

No. Anyone who knows even a little bit about shotguns should be able to tell you the gauge by looking at it. But an older gun may have short chambers and if you intend to shoot it you should have have a gunsmith measure them.

That will depend on which Iver Johnson you have. The one most commonly encountered is the single shot Champion which will range from $25 for a parts gun to $150 in like-new condition. If it has a matted rib, add $25 in all grades. If it has a ventilated rib, those prices nearly double. Then there are the Skeeter Model and the Super Trap, both single shots which run from $375 to $1100. A Hercules Grade side by side double barrel lists from $250 to $550 and the Silver Shadow, an over-under double barrel manufactured in Italy for Iver Johnson, lists from $150 to $350.

I've found a J.P. Wilkinson,10g hammergun in good condition,on an auction site here in Canada.It's Reserved at $200 Can. and it's been there at least 8 months. Food for thought. Ed

If it also says Norwich Conn, it was manufactured by Crescent Fire Arms, c. 1890-1930 (with open hammers, probably before 1910). If not, then by Simonis, Janssen & Dumoulin in Belgium c. 1884-1905. A Belgian gun will also carry the proofmark of ELG* in an oval and if there is a crown over this mark, it was made after 1893.

If you are in the United States, this gun can cause you some serious trouble. If it had been originally manufactured as a short barreled shotgun before 1934, the BATF might be a little lenient about "innocent possession", but the 311 was never made with barrels shorter than 28 inches or a pistol grip or before the 1940s. Possession may result in 10 years in a federal penitentiary and a fine up to a quarter million dollars. My suggestion is to disassemble the gun, drop the the barrels in a deep body of water, and throw the grip in a fire. You can sell the receiver and internal parts to a gunsmith for a few dollars.

The pistol that you have described was a "promotional product" manufactured by Sheridan Products, Inc., which was located in Racine, Wisconsin at the time. Sheridan manufactured these pistols between 1953 and 1960. This was the only pistol produced by Sheridan and the pistol is referred to as a "Knockabout". I am sorry to tell you that there is very little interest in or demand for these pistols.
