"NITRO HUNTER" was one of the many brand names used by the HD Folsom Company. They were major distributors of shotguns to the various hardware/catalog stores in the 19th and early 20th century. HD Folsom absorbed Crescent Firearms Company and Crescent became the in-house manufacturer for this type of gun, but HD Folsom also sold products made by Hopkins & Allen, H&R, Iver Johnson, etc. Your particular shotgun was made by Crescent and distributed by HD Folsom to Belknap Hardware in Louisville KY sometime between 1902 and 1930. sales@countrygunsmith.net

Shotguns made in the US before 1968 were not required to have serial numbers. Would have to go with whatever markings are on the gun.

That is not the model number, but the Ranger marked shotguns were sold by Sears before WW2.

I currently bought a 1400 mark 2 20 ga. and while i was researching i came across this page. I found out that my gun was made between 1968 and 1974 at this site http://www.shootingusa.com/GUN_QUESTIONS/gun_questions.html copy and paste it. I dont know if your gun is a mark 2 or what but maybe this will help.

Made between 1900-1940. Value under $100.

Riverside Arms is a brand name used by the J Stevens Arms Co. on many good quality double barrel shotguns until about 1920. The value depends on model, gauge, and condition. The values can range from $100 to $1600. Seek professional appraisal from a gunsmith or advanced collector.

Isaac Hollis & Sons were English gunmakers from c.1870-1900. They made some very fine guns, and you should have yours evaluated in person by someone familiar with English doubles.

That name and variations on it have been used at least five times over the years. Look for Belgian proofmarks if a double-gun.

You have a 1987 Light Twelve. Value depends on condition. Expect $400 to $800 for a used gun. A professional appraisal is recommended.

You have a Lewis or NIG model, built in 1903.

I have the same, purchased by my Grandpa and having been in my family since new. Upon giving me the shotgun, my Mother consulted a gun dealer and he put the value at only $75 for it's good, very little rust, and still shootable condition. With this low of a value, she gave it to me to keep passing on as a family piece rather than sell. Have you found anything out somewhere else? Thanks! That dealer was right. Although it is a good solid firearm, it's just another Stevens single shot wearing a suit from Montgomery Wards. If it's a 410, it might bring a little more, but for less than $100 you can get a similar gun with a manufacturer's warrantee.

Rossi made 2 variations of the double barrel shotguns. The Amadeo "Coach gun" with the rabbit ear hammers and the "Squire" double barrel which was the hammerless version. The age of both guns are from 1968-1989. The value of each is about the same. Ranges from $125 - $150 Depending on value. Not a very valuable gun, but a good shooter. Rossi is no longer in business. They changed there name to Braztech. They are still made in South America, decent cheap gun.

Valenciennes is the region in France where it was made. "Morin" may well be the maker, although I do not have a reference on that maker specifically. There were many French guilds producing arms in the mid-1800's (1860's time frame when pinfire was popular). Value is going to depend on the overall quality, amount of decoration and condition - could be anywhere from a couple of hundred to well over a thousand.

It was manufactured from 1936 to 1948. It's value will range from 75 to 150 depending on condition.
