You might be sad, just aviod it and tell your parents about it , if he calls you names dont respond tell your parents and ,if your parents dont tell them to stop, ask him nicely to be nice kind and dont be such in a way but for me i got knocked for 5 days for saying that so i dont recommed that the best way to deal it is tell your parents and calm your self down. Dont blame your self , you can just relax with some relaxing music and after a while you'll get over it.

These are all exaggerated versions of what a young child may fear will happen if one of their parents gets remarried.

Another interesting point worth noting, is that the mother and/or father figure usually don't listen/hear the child pleading to them about the 'evil' things the step sister/step mother has in mind. Something that children are also scared of; that their parents won't believe them or even hear them out if they say they're scared of the new family member/members.

It would have to be taken to court for a judge to decide. But if the older sibling is old enough to care for them, *is able to financially support them, and can prove they would be a better guardian than the mother would, the older sibling may stand a good chance of getting them. But he or she would have to prove the mother is unfit, such as abusive, gross negligence, a drug addict or alcoholic, bringing strange men into the home on a regular basis, etc.

*If the older sibling did get custody of the younger ones, he or she may receive financial assistance from the state and the mother and/or father may have to pay child support.
