Hay im doing home work and i need to know if roller derby players get paid get back 2 me asp THANKS?

Back in the 1980s and earlier, skaters who played roller derby did get paid. Currently, no roller derby skaters (that I know of) get paid to play, though it would certainly be nice! :)

In fact, playing roller derby can be quite expensive! You have to buy your gear (skates, wheels, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, helmets, mouth guards, etc) and your uniform, and most leagues charge dues to cover rental for the practice space, league insurance, and other fees. Many leagues are nonprofit organizations, so all the money they raise goes back into the league to pay for things like flyers, tickets, venue rental, EMTs, security, and travel. Nonprofit leagues also do charity work, either holding charity bouts to donate proceeds to a given charity or by volunteering and raising money in other ways.

How do you do ice skating?

if u want to know how to ice skate go to a local ice rink and pay for group lessons and when u are very good like me u can get private lessons. WRONG. you have lessons if you want to learn jumps, technique, spins etc............

before even considering lessons go to your nearest rink and just start to get a feel for the ice. Go round slowly and you eventually will be able to skate. i would recommend you go with someone who is confident on the ice so they can help you round.

EDIT BY BURNOUT10 = the first time i went i was great all you need to know is how to start off..... Lean on your weak foot and push out on your good foot in a "v-shape", then continue on the next foot.

-----Also, don't forget to get good skates and not use the rentals ones. Their really bad!

Ilikekittens(me) says-that was a pretty generic question I could answer somthing more specific like a certain jump or spin. if you want to learn to skate: get lessons.

Put your hair up in a high ponytail (or at whatever height you want your bun at) and twist your ponytail then wrap it around the center of your pony tail. Using a hair net (very thin and color matching you hair) to keep all the little ends in will help in addition to using lots of bobby pins and hair spray.

Hi I want to learn how to ice skate but the closest rink is 100 miles away I was wonderingabout buying some rollerblades so is rollerblading similar to ice skating?

Yes and no. Rollerblades teach you balance but the balance required to ice skate is different. Ice skating requires greater balance because the blade is smaller. Also the stopping techniques are different to, but if you are a quick learner you will be able to transition easily from Rollerblades an concrete to ice skates and ice.

What is the difference between a feeble grind and a smith grind?

Feebles and Smiths are essentially very similar. However there is one main difference, in a feeble grind, whether bs or fs, you ollie onto the obsticle and your front truck clears it and balances on the other side. Whereas the smith grind would have your front truck on the side you are on by the rail, ledge etc. Hope that clears it up, its hard to explain without a demonstration. If not watch some videos and try and work out the difference.
