Mollusca is a phylum of animals, just as Chordata (our phylum) is. It's a group with wonderful variety, including animals that don't even have brains (clams and oysters), through those with very simple ones (snails and slugs) to creatures some scientists suspect are as smart as dogs or monkeys (cuttlefish and squid).

How many eggs can a snail have at once?
3 weeks on average. You can watch them develop in the egg sacs, and emerge when fully formed.
Though there are many aquatic species of slugs that can sting, I have yet to find a species of slug that is poisonous. The poison that people use to kill the slugs in their garden is actually what you should worry about as it is toxic to cats and dogs.
Does the snail get eaten by humans?
Snails are only scared of a human if they don't handle them right, i have 10 snails soon to be lots more and at first they were scared of me but as i handled them a little more they had gotten used to me and come out of their shell pretty much as soon as i pick them up! Thanks for your help and i hope it was helpful thanks for reading.
How can you tell a slug's age?
You can check it's ID.
I'm not aware of any reliable field test for age. Size is not simply a function of age contrary to popular opinion.
Some of the older salamanders I have seen have skin that looks "puffy", but that could be a condition not related to age.
Although reproduction in cone snails has not been widely studied, it appears that most of these snails have separate sexes and fertilisation is internal. Egg capsules of various shapes are laid and attached to substrate. Each capsule contains a varying number of eggs. Two types of hatchlings have been described, the veligers (free-swimming larvae) and veliconcha (basically baby snails).
What do you put in your snail home?
Well, depending on whether it's a aquatic snail or land snail, I'd say put in soil with lettuce or cabbage leaves in your snail's home if it's a land snail, and fill the tank with pebbles/sand and water as well as seaweed or lettuce for an aquatic snail.
How long does it take a snail to run a mile?
3 hours
If you had the time to watch you would already know.
They have a hole by the entrance of their shell, which they breathe through. They also "go to the bathroom" through it.
What happens if your kid eats a snail?

How long for land snail eggs to hatch?
Unfortunately, there has been a foolish and sad answer to this question from a troll. Anyway, the answer is that they will hatch in 2 to 4 weeks depending on temperature and species.
Do snails regrow their shells when you step on it?
Yes, if you crush them completely. If however, you just crush a tiny bit of the shell, the snail will be injured, suffer, and most probably die a slow and painful death (as pieces of the shell can penetrate the snail). If you only crush a tiny bit of the shell then the chayton snail will not die.
Can you put a snail in a betta fish bowl?
Yes......at least I think.....I'm trying it out as I speak. I went to petco to get one bottom feeder and left with a bottom feeder and a tiny baby fish named little Fry. We put him in a little fish bowl that gets dirty quickly so we bought a snail. Everything should be fine cause snails eat alagae and stuff not baby fish :-)
How do you know when a water snail has eggs?
You should be able to see the eggs on the glass near the waterline. the eggs are laid slightly out of the water so that other fish and such do not eat them but they need to remain wet. In the wild the changing levels of the river or lake would take care of this. The egg cases will usually be clear, and although they may jiggle, DO NOT attempt to pull them off.
What happens if you eat something with snail slime on it?
Probably you are OK but it should be avoided !
Snails carry a few potential parasites that are life threatening. Including ratlungworm
and a brain eating Amoeba
Even eating snail slime accidentally or a slug
on unwashed lettuce can be a big issue.
Raw snails can potentially carry the brain eating Amoeba to the brain as well. Try to keep snails out of your garden.
