One can never gauge the superiority of one country over another, due to it being a matter of opinion. However, these are some aspects about Korea that are generally perceived to more favorable than those of Japan.

-General Electronics: The Korean companies Samsung and LG are considered to be some of the top competitors in many diverse areas of technology (ranging from smartphones to televisions to household appliances). The Japanese company Sony was once a major competitor in many technological industries but has fallen behind Samsung and LG.

-Music: K-pop has become increasingly popular internationally due to its more westernized appeal and unique style (for example-Psy's gangnam style). Japanese music on the other hand appeals almost exclusively to people from Japan and has not had much international popularity.

-English-speaking: Korean students are taught in schools to learn English as a second language in order to become more internationally competent. As a result, an English-speaking foreigner coming to Korea would have more ease communicating with the locals. Japan on the other hand does teach English in some schools, but is not generally considered important.

Ultimately, the answer to this question simply comes down to preference. There are undoubtedly things about Japan that are preferred over their counterparts in Korea and vice versa. I hope I helped to answer your question.

finally the question that I was looking for. I'm also waiting for a package from the US to South Korea. Mine was sent on Jan 4th 2011 and its Feb. 13th 2011 right now and I still haven't received it. the postal guy told my friend 10 days but I'm thinking that is a lot of baloney.....still waiting for my package......and NOT HAPPY!

Festival

Chungju city has held a martial arts festival which is unique in South Korea. The festival started officially in 1998 and is held annually in October. The purpose of the festival is to harmonize the ancient history of martial arts in Korea with martial arts from throughout the world.

In 2007, participants from 20 nations performed at the festival. Many sports were shown such as Sambo of Russia, Muay Thai of Thailand, and Arnis of the Philippines. Due to the H1N1 virus, the martial arts festival was canceled in 2009.

Chungju Lake

Chungju Lake is the country's biggest multi-purpose dam that links together Chungju and its neighborhoods. It is a manmade lake with a vast body of water.

Woraksan Mt and Songnae valley are located nearby. Additionally, this area has cherished cave area/springs.
