Spinal Cord

The spinal cord serves as the center for reflexes. Reflexes don't enter the brain and all, which is a good thing because it is too slow for reflexes to work to protect us from harm.

The human body is made up of various tendons, muscles, and bones that all serve a different function. The head and back are supported by the spinal column which is covered by vertebrae that run from your tail to your neck.

The spinal cord is mainly white, with a grey, butterfly shaped area of grey at its center.

The central nervous system

The white rami communicantes are myelinated pre-ganglionic fibers (myelinated axons) from cell bodies located in the internal gray of the spinal cord. These fibers represent general visceral efferents of the sympathetic nervous system.

Reticular activating system plays a role in awake/ sleep cycles and consciousness

The spinal cord is made up of neural pathways. In order for a message to go from the brain to the body, that message, or impulse, is passed from neuron to neuron through junctions called synapses. This process continues until the message reaches its final destination, such as muscle, gland, or other non-neural cell.

The spermatic cord is found only in males. The spermatic cord is composed of the vas deferens which run from each testicle.
