They're a species from the Planet Vulcan, and are 'cousins' to the species Romulans from Romulus. They have 3.5 times the strength of humans, green blood, their hearts are on their sides instead of their chests, they have two eye lids, they have pointed ears and are highly emotional. Because of their superior strength and emotions, they keep a tight check on them, making logic their way of life and any display of emotions disgraceful. To help with this, they often go into long meditive states where they clear their minds. Vulcans are also touch-telepaths, meaning they can sense thoughts and emotions if skin is touching. However, this makes touching something rarely done on Vulcan, kept between family and mates. When a Vulcan mates, they create a bond with where they can telepathically communicate. Vulcan men and women are bonded at 7 years old, but not fully 'married' until the male begins his first Pon Farr. Pon Farr is a highly dangerous time for Vulcan men. It basically means they go into heat, and need to mate with their spouses or die trying. At this point in time, Vulcans lose all of their revered logic and renouned sense of control, making Pon Farr something never talked about to outsiders. Vulcans were the first alien species to make contact with Earth when they discovered Warp power and began to travel the universe. Vulcans and Humans cannot have children by normal means, meaning they need to have special treatments, or genetically engineer the child so it can be born. Before Spock, no human-vulcan hybrid had ever survived past six years old.

The Star Trek universe I'm sure gives one a good idea of the real universe out there. The Star Trek universe is also the kind of future we, and further generations, would like to live in. We don't really know what will happen in the future. But, we can start by being the change we want to see in the future - the microcosm affecting the macrocosm. So, YES the things in Star Trek CAN happen in the future. We must be positive that the good things in it will happen. (Picard gives a good description of that future to Lily in 'Star Trek First Contact'.)

Sulu began as life-sciences officer I think, and he played the helmsman and 4th officer for most episodes until the series ended. There were different navigators on the first season, including Lt. Farrell and Lt. Kevin Riley. Ensign Pavel Chekov was navigator for the second and third seasons. There have been four other Star Treks since, and other navigators on three of them.

In my search fr the same answer, I came across www.collectiblestoday.com who says they are the official site for the hamilton collection (true?). Anway, one of their frequently asked questions was how to know the value of a collectiible. They recommended trying the CIB - Collectors Information Bureau. http://www.collectorsinfo.com/ CIB issues, for a price (sorry, not free), online and printed price guides for many collectibles, including Hamilton Plates. (which is what my STrek plates are). I didn't buy the guide because I didn't want to spend money at the time..but it's an answer you can check out for yourself..see what you think of them Sometimes a plate is worth whatever the market (ebay etc..) is paying..or whatever it's worth to a buyer..but you probably already know that and want something more conclusive..
