I had an expander (if that's what you're talking about) for about a year and a month. A HUGE recommendation is to get a WaterPik. It's a little machine that squirts out water with a lot of pressure to remove any food that is stuck in your appliance. It was a huge help to me, I couldn't have went through the process without it.

Your option would be to go to a dental surgeon to have then put some braces on. They do have braces that you can't see.

I don't know what others think, but I think they are quiet fashionable, atleast at the time I had them on which was about 4-5 years ago when I was 14 or 15. I loved my braces. And my cousin got her braces done at 19 so I don't know what you are worried about.

I am 18 years old and just resently closed my gap using www.gapinmyteeth.com. You wear what looks like a small rubber band around your front teeth. The band is streached out so it pulls on your teeth. I had a large gap and it closed after about a month.

I had 3 gaps between my front teeth and I used teeth makeover bands and they've closed up. My friend used them too, but when he leaves the bands off for a couple of weeks, the teeth start to gap again. I think it's worth it, though. I don't mind putting them back on at night to not have to spend thousands of dollars to get the gap fixed permanently. My son used these bands and then needed an operation to remove 2 bands that had gone up under his gums, restricting the blood and effecively killing the tooth root , it was very painfull and nobody knew what was happening for weeks, they thought it was just general gum issues, he is lucky to have kept his front teeth but 4 years later still has major probelms with his gums and needs another operation to remove some gum, as your gum doesn't regrow once damaged, he may lose his teeth, he is only 19years old. THESE BANDS ARE NOT SAFE. we did this through our orthodontist, but will be pursuing a complaint procedure.

Since you did not specify if you are a boy or girl i will say red, i feel that it suits the occasion, and will work for both genders. A girl may like to get pink though.

You need metal bands because you have an overbite. The metal bands have hooks on them. You put rubber bands on each of the hooks (they are on the top and the bottom) and then it pulls your teeth into the right shape. Btw don't worry it does't hurt when they put the metal bands on. Not everyone needs them because not everyone has an overbite.

Elastics are put in place to ensure that an overbite doesn't develop, they should be worn all the time, and some people recommend wearing double at night. They should only be taken out to eat or to brush your teeth, not wearing them will only prolong the amount of time you have your brace on, so it is vital that they are worn all the time. That's what they did to me. They took my old wires of and got new ones and clipped them and then put them on my teeth. Yeah it's kinda the same thing

I am going to try teeth band effect but I just left my dentist yesterday and she informed me my only way to close my gap is through an orthodontist to get braces or invisalign. I had braces because my gap was really big and the little skin in the middle is a muscle. In order to permanently close your gap is to remove that muscle by having a minor surgery, a frenectomy (I paid about $600). i then got braces but never wore my retainer after and it open up, NOT AS BIG THOUGH but now i plan on using the rubber bands to close it then go to the orthodontist to get a small wire behind my two front teeth to keep it in place. I also had that done but it came off and i failed to get it redone. I have heard a lot of negative feedback about the rubber bands. In your case it would definitely not be a permanent solution, you would need the surgery and the braces. Insurance can possibly cover a portion of the surgery and the braces you can pay monthly, that's what I did, i was 16 paying for my braces at about $109 a month for two years, that's how bad I wanted to close my gap and I know how insecure it can make you feel. You probably feel like you are never going to get it done but little by littel, start withthe consulation of the braces and get the braces first, you could then look into the surgery becasue they can do it with your braces on, I did it like that...Put your mind to it and do it, the outcome is a relief. GOOD LUCK!

You should never take your retainer out for more than a day! Wearing your retainer everyday(whether it be daytime or night) keeps your teeth in place. Even if you go a few days without wearing one and you put it in, your teeth will feel very tight because they have shifted already. Everyday you don't have it on, your teeth move more and more. Word of advise: WEAR YOUR RETAINER!

Your invisalign are working if your teeth are moving and each set fits properly. If you find that you are developing gaps in between your trays and teeth you may be off track.
