What is the best way to even out a tan?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I will use/apply a "progressive sunscreen" that reaches a top protection value depending of the exposure. The more sun received, the quicker protection developed. In that way, the different parts of the body, that receive the sun with different proportion and intensity, will equal the amount that reaches the skin and therefore the final suntan of the whole body will be even.

There are several patents ongoing and hope the product will reach the market soon.

Is suntan lotion a homogeneous mixture?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes, suntan lotion is a homogeneous mixture. All of the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the lotion. If you took a sample from the top of the bottle it would be the same as a sample that you took from the bottom of the bottle, or any other place in the bottle.

On a molecular level, suntan lotion is a mixture of many different ingredients, so it is heterogeneous in composition.

How long do you have to wait to shower after tanning?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Depends on if you used a lotion or not. Most lotions have DHS in it, which is like a tinted moisturizer. If you used a lotion you should wait 4 hours so the DHS has had time to completely soak into your skin, after the 4 hour wait you can shower. If you didn't use a lotion you can shower whenever you feel like it.

How do you produce more melanin for tanning?

User Avatar

Asked by JadeyBabey91

Only those of human descent can achieve melanin activation. Hue-man, meaning, afrikan decent or man of many "shades/hues". Activation is achieved ONLY naturally by detoxification of cellular membranes, in addition too restoring the previous brainwave functioning before the recessive geneology was created and introduced (white descent, non hue-man) 6,000 plus yrs ago. Brainwave funtioning is a result of thoughts, which is done by improving memory and relaxing in order to allow the chemicals created by stress to leave the brain, also by spiritually having thought intent in-line with what naturally supports the environment/ natural laws/universe/reality/earth/self.

Why do tans fade?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

A tan is produced by melatonin. The sun goes through the skin and hits the melatonin. The more sunlight the sun gets the more melatonin is produced, which makes the skinner more tan. Melatonin wares away though if it is not being affected by the sun. Thus during the winter when there is less sun, the skin color becomes lighter and less tanned.

Can self tanning lotion prevent you from tanning?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Nothing will completely block all UV light and stop you from tanning. An SPF will simply delay the amount of time it takes for you to receive MED's (minimal erythemal dosage). So in theory, a SPF 30 vs an SPF 8 will allow you to spend more time in the sun and delay the tanning process(by minimizing the penetration of UV light)
