Do tanning beds age your skin?
Excessive use of tanning booths as well as prolonged exposure to the sun has been shown to induce premature ageing in peoples skin.
LOL, no, not unless you are shaving the skin clean off your face along with the whiskers. You should probably stop before you get that deep! Phil
Is it safe to tan after having a baby 2 weeks ago?
Purposely tanning is never a good idea--it increases the risk of skin cancer, prematurely ages skin, and can cause painful burns. Sunblock should be worn whenever your skin is exposed to the sun for long periods of time.
If you insist on tanning, it's probably better to wait until 6 weeks, when your hormone levels have all returned to normal. This decreases the risk of melasma, dark patchy staining of the face
Is there iodine in spray tanning liquids?
Yes, iodine, which is known to be used in spray on tanning (as well as home spray and creams).
It has been found that iodine used for certain hospital xrays is causing kidney failure.
I have been using Mystic Tan for the past 2 1/2 years and have developed severe kidney failure. BEWARE!
Tanning Pills normally contain an ingredient call L-Tyrosine. This ingredient helps increase melanin production. The more melanin that is created...the more it will rise to the surface of your skin. In basic terms...UV Light will cause the melanin to react, darken & spread out on the skin. Thus a tan is created.
The body naturally produces melanin...but kick starting the production using a tanning pill will work. Note: This same ingredient is also in almost all indoor tanning accelerators that are available for purchase when visiting a tanning salon. Whether applied topically or ingested, it basically works the same.
Having a base tan is considered slightly protective because a base tan provides you with sun protection comparable to an SPF 4. Without a base tan you are more likely to burn or damage your skin when exposed to sunlight.
Can you shave after having a spray tan?
Yes, but you should wait until after your initial shower from your spray tan appointment. You should also keep in mind that spray tanning is not a sun protectant and you will tan/burn just as you would before the spray tan.
Can you tan if you are pregnant?
If you get a doctor's note you are able to tan, it is advised that you tan in a stand up bed instead of laying on your back, it could cause harm to the baby.
No you have to be 16 to tan in a salon, therefore they don't hire under that age.
What is the best way to even out a tan?
I will use/apply a "progressive sunscreen" that reaches a top protection value depending of the exposure. The more sun received, the quicker protection developed. In that way, the different parts of the body, that receive the sun with different proportion and intensity, will equal the amount that reaches the skin and therefore the final suntan of the whole body will be even.
There are several patents ongoing and hope the product will reach the market soon.
What are the benefits of spray tans over a tanning booth?
Spray tanning has its advantages as well as its disadvantages. The major advantage that I would say is there is no chance of getting burnt and as far as anyone knows, no chance of getting cancer.
Is suntan lotion a homogeneous mixture?
Yes, suntan lotion is a homogeneous mixture. All of the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the lotion. If you took a sample from the top of the bottle it would be the same as a sample that you took from the bottom of the bottle, or any other place in the bottle.
On a molecular level, suntan lotion is a mixture of many different ingredients, so it is heterogeneous in composition.
What are some benefits of sunbathing?
By tanning you are getting Vitamin B, the tanner you are the less likely you are to burn (many people go tanning before going on vacation if they are fair skinned for this reason), and the obvious reason; being tan is what is "in" so many people try to achieve this look by using tanning beds and such, and my favorite; tanning dries out your skin which will reduce your acne!
What can you do for sunburn on your face?
To take care of sunburn on your face you treat it like any other sunburn that would happen on your body. You first keep applying aloe on it at C-VS stores and Rite Aid stores they have these aloe masks for sun burns on the face. Then after you should drink lots of water and stay in a cool area.
How long do you have to wait to shower after tanning?
Depends on if you used a lotion or not. Most lotions have DHS in it, which is like a tinted moisturizer. If you used a lotion you should wait 4 hours so the DHS has had time to completely soak into your skin, after the 4 hour wait you can shower. If you didn't use a lotion you can shower whenever you feel like it.
What are the effects of sunbathing?

What processes are involved in getting a tan and then having it fade away?
Mitosis causes a suntan on your skin to fade. Mitosis is the division of cells to create new daughter cells. After you have/get a suntan. Your cells continue to divide and your old cells die off while your new cells grow over causing your suntan to fade away. I hope this helped.
Can you naturally tan underneath a spray tan?
Yes. A spray on tan doesn't protect you at all from the sun.
What is better tanning lotion or spray on tanner?
well self tanning will get you tan faster, but it is also more dangerous. self tanning lotion is simply just a lotion you apply to help you get the glow! but the lotion can give you a orange look if your not careful. hope i could help!!!!

How do you produce more melanin for tanning?
Only those of human descent can achieve melanin activation. Hue-man, meaning, afrikan decent or man of many "shades/hues". Activation is achieved ONLY naturally by detoxification of cellular membranes, in addition too restoring the previous brainwave functioning before the recessive geneology was created and introduced (white descent, non hue-man) 6,000 plus yrs ago. Brainwave funtioning is a result of thoughts, which is done by improving memory and relaxing in order to allow the chemicals created by stress to leave the brain, also by spiritually having thought intent in-line with what naturally supports the environment/ natural laws/universe/reality/earth/self.
