Most main drains for vinyl liner pools have a threaded port inside of the drain itself. This threaded port is used to plumb in the main drain. The easiest way to fix this is to swim down to the main drain, remove the grate, which is held on with two screws, COME UP FOR AIR, then screw in a threaded 11/2 plug into the port. This will stop water from leaking if the leak is in the line itself and not in the drain.

All you have to do to find the volume of a swimming pool is multiply the length x width x average depth x gallons in a cubic foot (7.48). In your case it would be 38x22x5.5x7.48=34,393 gallons.

Muriatic acid works best to lower both pH and alkalinity, but thee's a way you need to do it in order to hit one without too much damage on the other.

While your filtration system is running and the water is circulating, broadcast, (don't dump the product or go too fast), the pool acid, or pH minus if you wish, into the pool starting in the deep end and working around the perimeter. Please remember to use goggles and heavy rubber gloves. If you spill any acid on your skin, it will probably eat through 3 layers of skin before you can wash it off. Remember, safety first.

Allow the water to fully circulate, usually 4-6 hours, then re-test your pool's pH balance.

The problem with that is that most in ground pools drain through the skimmer at the surface of the water. sot the thing to do it get a hose connected to the skimmer intake, taking care that not too much air gets into the system, and throw the end of the hose on the floor of the pool. so long as no air robs the system of prime and you have a reasonable pump you should be able to empty it. It would be wise to keep an eye on it as you are doing this. ( You wouldn't want to wreck the pump) a safer way is to hire a submersible pump to do it.

All depends on what you are looking for and how much you have to spend. Concrete pools are usually considered the "high-end" pool but installation takes a long time and maintenance and repair are costly. Steel pools, or I'm assuming you're referring the vinyl liner pools, are a good, cost efficient option. Though, if you want to extend the life span of your pool, check out the other building materials used for vinyl liner pools.. such as Fiber Reinforced Composite Materials.

Approximately 14645 gallons. Let's suppose that this pool is a perfect cylinder shape of 24 ft. diameter by 52 inches (or 4 1/3 feet) deep. The formula to find the volume of a cylinder is V=πr(square)h. We could use 3.14 to represent Pi (π), r(square) is 144 and the height of 52 inches, which is 4and1/3 feet. So then just multiply 3.14 (π) times 144 times 4 and a third. The answer is approximately 1958 cubic feet. Since there are 7.481 gallons of liquid per cubic foot, 7.481 times 1958 is approximately 14645 gallons.

Gallon is a unit of volume so I assume you meant how many gallons per cubic foot. The answer is 7.48 gallons per cubic foot.

You want your pH to be around 7.4. This can be done by using a pH decreaser

for rectangles:

length*width*depth*7.5

or for a deep end:

length*width*((shallow end depth + deep end depth)/2)*7.5

so in your case, 15*15*4*5.9=5000 gallons

A pool 120 yds long by 54 yds wide and 8 ft deep has a volume of 120 x 3 ft x 54 x 3 ft x 8 ft = 466,560 ft3. 1 cubic foot of water has a volume of 7.4805 US gallons, so the volume of the pool would be about 3,490,100 US gallons (466,560 x 7.4805).

Cannot be answered with only these measurements. You need to specify what shape the pool is. Also, for a rectangular pool, the length, width and depth are needed. For a round pool, the diameter and depth are needed.
