How do you swim a good 200 freestyle?
Pace yourself! If you have zero endurance, like me, and don't know how to pace yourself, go a little more than moderate for the first 150 or so and then sprint the last 25 or 50. Also practice your flipturns, my coach told me that a good flip turn can shave 3 seconds off of your time.
IT REALLY DEPENDS, if u r swimming in long course then u don't want to swim as fast b/c u wil get tired easily but in short course u want to swim faster. The first lap get ahead of everybody and then the second lap just pace yourself but stay in front or get closer to the front (ahead of everbody) i have a lot of endurance so pretty easy for me. On thrid get a little faster, and get faster ans faster with each lap, on last 50 sprint a fast as possible!!!! i know all this b/c DAVID MARSH COACHES ME AND I SWIM AT MAC (MECLENBURG AQUATIC CLUB) MANY OLYMPIANS HAVE BEEN THERE!!!!! AND BEEN COACHED THERE TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with this answer above. Pace yourself, IN THE BEGINNING. But TRY to go a little faster each 50. So i guess you start out kinda slow but by the end youre sprinting.

What is starfish float swimming?
The jellyfish float is also known as the survival float. The survival float is used to conserve energy when you are in trouble in the water, or waiting to be rescued. 1. Take a deep breath
2. Put your face in the water and exhale, let your arms and legs hang freely and rest in this position for a few seconds.*
3. To take another breath, slowly lift the arms to about shoulder height and move the arms forward. Separate the legs, moving one leg forward and the other back.
4. Gently press down with the arms while bringing the legs together. This movement lifts the mouth out of the water and now you can take another breath.
5. Return to the resting position and repeat the steps to continue breathing and resting. *It is important to conserve energy, so kicking your legs and moving your arms in a swimming fashion is not part of this survival technique. Try to keep your legs close together and touching each other if the water is cold. This will help keep you warm. (see also, Help position in swimming).
