How long does it take to swim across the Pacific Ocean?
Nobody knows because it has never been done....yet. But Ben Lecomte who swam across the Atlantic from Cape Cod to France back in 1998 will be taking on the Pacific Ocean in 2012.
He will be swimming from Tokyo, Japan to San Francisco, CA. Estimated time is 5-6 months to complete. It's approximately a 5500+ mile journey and he will be accomplishing this my doing what is called a "staged-swim", where he swims for hours, then gets on a boat where he can refuel and rest then get back in. Approx. swim distance per day will be 40 miles. Using GPS technology, he will be re-entering the water in the exact spot he got out. This will enable him to officially be qualified for the World Record title.
A POA device will be used to ward off sharks, it sends out a magnetic signal to the sharks and annoys them which keeps them at bay. He will not be swimming with a shark cage, it will be Ben, a wet suit, snorkel and flippers.
Ben will be able to communicate with people on land while he swims, checking email and his social sites using s new technology prepared solely for Ben.
People will be able to track Ben live on the internet via Facebook and his website.
A documentary will be filmed capturing the journey.
Ben Lecomte will be embarking on this journey in the hopes of inspiring others to face their own challenges and struggles, work towards their goals and fulfill their dreams. It's a test of endurance, strength both physical and mental, but it's something that is in Ben's character, he has a mission and a dream to fulfill and is going after it.

How long should you wait after circumcision to go swimming?
That depends on which genital piercing you have! Some heal in as little as 4-6 weeks, such as inner labia or VCH for women, or the Prince Albert for men. Others can take many months to heal.
Most bodies of water do harbor bacteria, including your bathtub (if you don't wash it with a 10% bleach solution first), and pools, Jacuzzis, lakes, rivers, and oceans. It is best to avoid submerging the pierced area in such bodies of water during healing.
Some body piercings lend themselves to being sealed with a waterproof bandage, but there are still some risks of water leaking in.
A piercing is an open wound, and you must avoid exposing it to germs throughout healing.

Does swimming affect fake tan?
I use Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion which works really well I would recommend it to anyone, but unfortunately it does come off after swimming. The stronger tan you use, the less it will come off in the pool but it's not worth putting it on before swimming because the likeliness is that it will come off. Sometimes some of the colour is left behind, and makes you look patchy :( It's not a good look, and the remains of your tan is really hard to get off afterwards! Hope this helps xx
