What was Anastasia Romanov's personality like?
Anastasia seemed to have two sides. Most people who knew her described her as adventurous, tough, and she was even called a terrorist! (not the middle-eastern kind) She was known to be a gifted actress, and was considered to be the second smartest of the children, as she proved to be quite gifted. Anastasia was always described as being full of energy. She loved to pull practical jokes, made rude comments, and loved scaring the staff. She was called a tomboy, and would rather climb a tree than sit still and look sophisticated. In fact, though beautiful, she cared very little about her appearance. She was even called Shvibzikby her father, which was Russian for "Imp". She was the family clown and often gave impromptu performances and did tricks with the family dogs. When her little brother would be bed ridden with crippling pain, she would sit by his bedside and tell him funny stories and jokes to ease his pain. During the war, she also entertained the wounded soldiers by playing games and doing little performances along with her jokes and stories. One in particular said that she "moved as though stumbling about" and "had a laugh like a squirrel". Her governess said "she had the greatest personal charm of anyone I'd ever met"; something she got from her father. Even while in prison and her guards carried guns, she would stick her tongue out at them when they weren't looking.

Good question. They all had pets and of course, were familiar with Horses in parades and such events. Anastasia was also a budding artist and photographer. She may have had one of the then restricted to Govt types- Ouliamin spy cameras- which had two separate focusing actions for overlapped maps, internal F-stops ( very advanced for l905, patented in l909) and these cameras are rare- probably used l20 film which is square, or maybe 4 X5 which is rectangular and better suited to topographic work. the camera even had a built-in altimeter which could when selected, mark the height at which the picture was taken- on the negative. If she had one, it would be covered in Purple Leather ( Imperial Family color) and probably have an AR personal gold monogram on the case somewhere. Stacy was a camera user.
Who was the romanov czar in 1917?
Czar Nicholas II, of course. he abdicated under fire ( from the Mensheviks, originally the moderate Kerensky govt) and it is true for a brief period, his Brother, the Grand Duke Michael, assumed the title of Czar. Michael was then in the field with the Army and he was subsequently killed in the revolution, hence never reigned. Did they ever really find Anastasia?
OK Anna Anderson in no means was a royal family member DNA has PROVED SHE was a PEASANT FACTORY WORKER!!! The women didn't even speak Russian so how could she have been a Romanov. If you look at photos of Anastasia next to Anna their lip shape is different their noses are different. You might so oh but she was didnt know Russian anymore cause of what happened to her. Well no most likely she would have ended up mute not forgetting a language she knew from birth. DNA proved that the bodies were of Imperial Children ok. Yes it would be nice if she lived and was happy and lived old well no this is the real world ok not everything is peaches and cream.

YES! They were found in late July early August of 2007 and the DNA testing results came in (April of 2008) and said the two remains found were of 2 Romanov children

Read the book called The Last Tsar. I think that the bones weren't the 2 missing Romanov childrens' bones.
Also read about Anna Anderson. I believe she either was Anastasia or a member of the Romanov family. She knew so much about them!
The bones turned out to be the remains of Anastasia's brother Alexei and Princess Maria, not Anastasia! Prince Philip gave the DNA to test them as he was related to the family.
On July 17, 1918, The Romanov family was taken to the basement of the Ipatiev House where they were being kept captive. The guards told them that they needed a picture of them, but then a large firing squad entered the basement and shot them. Nicholas II died first after he was shot in the head. The girls (Olga, Tatiana, Marie, and Anastasia) were not killed by the bullets so the firing squad stabbed them to death with bayonets. It was rumored that Anastasia had survived since there were missing bodies when their bones were found in the 1990s. They found her remains in 2007 and it was concluded that she had died with her family in 1918.
Is St Anastasia the same person as Anastasia Romanov?
No, not at all. Saint Anastasia is a Roman Catholic Saint and a Martyr who died at Sirmium, which is located in modern day Serbia. In the Eastern Orthodox Church she is recognised as the Great Martyr Anastasia, the Deliverer from Potions.
She is one of only seven women, not including the Virgin Mary, who are commemorated by name in the Canon of the Mass. Her feast day is December 25th.
Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov, on the other hand, was the fourth and youngest daughter of Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra. She was born on June 18th 1901 at Peterhof Palace and was murdered along with the rest of her family in the basement of Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg in the early hours of July 17, 1918.
In the year 2000, Anastasia Romanov and her family were canonized as passion bearers by the Russian Orthdox Church. However, they were later canonized as saints, so technically, Anastasia IS a Saint, but in the Russian Orthodox Church.
No, it is not possible that any of the immediate Romanovfamily (i.e. Anastasia) survived. The records of their detention first by the Provisional Government and then by the Bolsheviks show clearly that they were kept in custody under tight security and all accounted for by several witness on the night they were all murdered. The bodies of Anastasia and Alexei were not buried with the bodies of the other Romanovs and servants; therefore they were unaccounted for when the bodies were first found. Later searches of the area discovered the remains of Anastasia and Alexei and DNA testing confirmed their identities.
Reports by the officer in charge of their custody, Yakov Yurovsky and an eyewitness account from one of the guards, Pavel Medvedev, confirm that all were shot, doused with acid and buried first in a mine and then in a forest.
