Galileo did not directly provide evidence for the heliocentric principle but he did discover important evidence that raised doubts about the Ptolemaic system with the Earth at the centre.

First, he discovered the moons of Jupiter, and these were the first objects discovered that definitely orbited round something that was not the Earth. That was one thing.

Secondly, he discovered that Venus has a gibbous phase when seen from Earth in certain positions in its orbit. This is not explained by the Ptolemaic system because Venus cannot go round behind the Sun in the Ptolemaic system.

Again this did not prove the heliocentric principle because Tycho Brahe came up with an intermediate system that had Mercury and Venus orbiting round the Sun, and then the Sun and the other planets orbit round the Earth. So this was still a geocentric system that explained all Venus's phases.

Therefore Galileo did not have enough evidence to prove the heliocentric principle, and after his trial he recanted.

But 60-70 years later enough new evidence had been gathered to convince most people that the Sun is at the centre, as we believe now.

The main object in the solar system is the Sun. It has about 1000 times the mass of the largest planet, Jupiter; Jupiter, in turn, has more mass than all the other planets combined.

Mars has trace amounts of water in the atmosphere, thus creating martian clouds.

The two coldest planets in our solar system are Uranus and Neptune. These gas giants are located far from the Sun, which results in extremely cold temperatures reaching as low as -200 degrees Celsius.

We are smaller than a speck relative to the galaxy itself. Not every planetary system in the galaxy is oriented in the same way. The Milky Way appears as it does because of the inclination of earth's equatorial plane (celestial equator) to the galactic plane. We are near the galactic plane, but it would be stranger than strange if every planet in the galaxy had its equatorial plane or ecliptic right on the galactic plane.

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system.

Those are called comets. Comets are icy bodies that orbit the Sun and, when close enough, develop a visible coma (a fuzzy atmosphere) and tail due to the heat of the Sun evaporating their ice and gases.

We human beings originated on the planet Earth and so far we have briefly visited the moon but have not established any permanent residence there, nor have we even visited any of the other planets (not in person, we have sent robotic probes).

If you could take plants to Mars without them dying, it would help making Mars a planet that can support an ecosystem. Plants produce Oxygen which is crucial for animal survival (this includes humans, too, because technically humans are a type of animal). If Mars could successfully support an ecosystem, we could colonize it, which would help resolve issues with overpopulation.

As of 2021, only one planet has been walked on by humans, and that is Earth. Astronauts have not yet walked on any other planet in our solar system.

Venus is often referred to as the "cloudy planet" because of its thick atmosphere that is mainly composed of carbon dioxide and clouds made of sulfuric acid. These clouds completely cover the planet and make its surface difficult to observe from space.

The speed of planets will vary as they travel at different speeds. Mercury is the fastest planet while Pluto is the slowest. The speed of the planets is influenced by how close they are to the sun.

Pluto's reclassification from a planet to a dwarf planet did not have a significant impact on the dynamics or functioning of our solar system. The decision was made to scientifically categorize objects based on their characteristics rather than on sentimental or historical reasons. Pluto's change in status does not change its physical properties or its place in the solar system.
