The rose is the ultimate symbol of romantic love and enduring passion, the red rose also conveys respect and the creative spirit of love.

The rose representing true love stronger than thorns, the red rose is known universally as the lover's rose.

In Greek mythology, the red rose represents passionate desire. This is derived from the myth which told of Aphrodite spilling blood onto a white rose when trying to help her wounded lover Adonis.

The rose also present beauty and pure love, Christine's heart was exactly that, beauty and pure love, she is the opposite of the Phantom who was a monster, an Angel in Hell.

Lots of the songs in Hairspray would be considered "Broadway" or "Show tunes," because they are from a musical and have that sense about them. Some of the songs, though, revolve around popular trends in the 1960's because it is set in the 1960's, and a couple could be considered jazzy, like "Big, Blonde, and Beautiful."

"Guys and Dolls" takes place around 1950.

George Gershwin wrote the music for porgy & bess

Basically, the story begins with poet/playwright Don Miguel Cervantes who gets in trouble with the spanish inquisition and is taken to prison. His fellow prisoners traditionally conduct a mock trial to new prisoners. When Cervantes is found guilty, the 'jury's' sentence is that he be fined all of his possessions including a manuscript that is very valuable to him. So cervantes offers a defense. In his defense he acts out the manuscript, the story of the mad night, Don Quixote.

"Hairspray, The Musical" had its Broadway debut on August 12, 2002 at the Neil Simon Theater with a near capacity crowd in attendance. The musical is based on the 1988 movie of the same name by John Waters.

"Cats" is a great musical. The kids would love to see kitty cats dancing on stage and having a great time! But your child might get scared. And some adults too! The plot is very difficult to understand but it is quite enjoyable. Enjoy!

There has been much debate about this question, and only theories as to how theatre started. I believe it has many origins. Religious cerimonies and rituals (such as war cerimonies, etc.) are among a few happenings that brought about theatre. People would dance to bring rain or whatever and pray to the deities. This later developed into people reinacting stories of their gods in front of each other. Another origin of theatre is the art of storytelling. People would tell stories and sometimes reinact them to pass on important information to the next generation such as stories of ancestors or stories to teach young ones important life lessons. The first actor that we know of is Thespis from ancient Athens. The Greeks would sing ancient hymns, called dithrambs, to honor the god Dionysus. Later, they would dress up in costumes and wear masks to tell stories while singing in chorus. Around the sixth century B.C., began the festivals of City Dionysia (among other festivals) where they held competitions for music, poetry, dance, and singing. Among the most talented winners was Thespis. Thespis was the first person we know of who astounded audiences by actually portraying the characters as he was reciting the poetry. Thus, he is known as the first actor, and we theatre people are referred to as "thespians."

The composer of Porgy and Bess was George Gershwin. He also composed the Rhapsody in Blue for piano and orchestra.

US actress Barbara Bain is 86 years old (born Mildred Fogel, September 13, 1931).

Damon Runyon. He is also popularily credited with gangsterized Cinderella yarn Pal Joey which was actually written by another writer. Pal Joey ignited the fad of stealing sets of hub caps as an initiation stunt. In the film, one character makes the crack that they are ( the purchase Price for Man"s redemption) which is a horrible analogy to the sacrifice of the Cross.

All of the main characters did: Riff and all the Jets Bernardo and all the Sharks AnitaMaria and Tony. The only people who don't sing are Officer Krupke, Lgt. Shrank, Anybodys, the Jet and Shark girls.Although in the 1961 movie, Krupke and Shrank have their little scene where we see them in the car probably finding where the Rumble is.
