My brother and I both received our braces in TJ. Since we lived close to the San Diego border, we commuted once a month there for monthly checkups. My brother was the first to receive the braces for about 2500 and the dentist gave me a discount of 500. So for an average cost of braces is around 2300 dollars. My teeth were horrific with 4 teeth overcrowding and severe overbite, in San Diego they were telling me it will cost near 6000. Went to reputable and well-known orthodontist near the border and of coarse the price was 1/3 of that price. My brother's teeth are perfect, jsut remember to wear the retainer, if you don't, your loooking at another 2300 bucks down the drain

Dr de La Vega is a true artist of the teeth and one of the nicest caring human beings you will ever meet. Your experience with him in Tijuana will be way beyond your experience with dentists in the United States. The personal attention will astound you, and his ability to produce and fit bridges, crowns, etc. in a very prompt manner with way more artistry all from his location is refreshing. All this for about 1/3 what you would pay for same materials and work in US.

Hi was down in Mexico and drove from Tijuana to Santa Rosalia, and it took me about 8 hours. It's a nice drive, but I recommend that you travel along with someone, also take supplies because there are some chunks of the highway without any civilization.

The crime scene in Tijuana is terrible. Look up the local news stories out of San Diego & you see tourists are getting mugged left & right down there right now. So be careful & think if you really need a poncho or a ceramic donkey for your front yard.
