Start engine but shift lever would not move?
Many vehicles have a lock that prevents the transmission from being shifted into gear accidentally. If the transmission won't shift when you press on the brake, it's probably either the switch on the brake pedal, or the solenoid that releases the shifter. My 2004 Honda Odessey did the same thing. I figured it out when I noticed that the horn was also out, and the brake lights wouldn't work. There is a 20Amp "Stop" fuse located in the main under-hood fuse box on the left side of the engine compartment. If that fuse blows, it takes power from the horn and the brake switch on the brake pedal. Without that brake switch, the shift lock solenoid also looses power and you can't shift out of Park. If you can't replace the fuse, you can manually release the shift lever lock by prying off that little rectangular cover on the top of the steering wheel shaft housing. Once the little cover is off, you can insert a key or small screwdriver into the slot and press down to release the shift lever. The owners manual describes how to do this. Just check the index under "Shift lever locked". The manual says to turn the car off, and then use a key to release the shift lever. Once the lever is out of the "Park" position, move the lever down to "Neutral" and start the car. If you can't replace that Stop fuse you will have to do this every time you put the shifter back in Park. Hpwever, you should not drive the car because you will have no break lights!!!
When do you shift gears in 9 speed kw semi truck?
It depends on the engine, but if I had a nine-speed in my truck I'd shift up at 1500rpm and down at 1100. But I gotta tell you, I've got a Fuller UltraShift two-pedal automatic and I will NEVER go back to a manual. If you are driving through Port Elizabeth, New Jersey, or downtown Chicago, just to name two of the more entertaining places to take 73 feet of rolling death, and you are trying to get to your destination without bending your truck, running over someone's car, or killing anyone, not having the transmission be on the list of things you need to worry about is really comforting.
What is the external width of a tractor trailer and dry van?
The max allowed width is 102 inches. There'll be some 96 inch wide trailers out there, as well.
How do you shift a 15 speed fuller transmission?
Well I have never tried to explain this in writing but here goes.
First your range selector needs to be in the down position (The black switch on the front of the shifter). Second the little blue switch on the left side needs to be back. About the little blue one - it can be set up for reduction on the low as well as the high side, so I can not walk you through your exact application. We will be talking about the deep reduction (blue switch) being on the low side. Also the actual gears can be a standard shift (dwn, over & up, then dwn and so forth) or the horse shoe style in which 3 & 4 are on the bottom and are side by side. Lets go with the standard.
O.K. clarifications to the side brings us to step 3. Press the clutch and place the shifter in 1st gear (mid upper) ease the clutch out and accel. Just about the point where you would press the clutch to shift - place your hand on the shifter and put a little pressure towards your next gear (drop down past neutral and into 2nd) as your foot releases acceleration the shifter will pull out of gear and depending on your exact application fall into the next gear (You will probably grind it until you get the timing down) repeat this basic concept until you get to 4th gear (5th if your trans has 1st as a low gear <which would be the position down and all the way to the left>) Now you are moving at about 25 MPH and it is time to go to your high gears. Your still on the throttle - flip up the black range lever and then put slight pressure pulling backwards on the shifter. Release the accelerator and you will hear a smooth quick clunk sound coming from the top of the tranny (it is in high gear range) place the selector in the 1st gear position (bottom left or top middle depending on where your 1st gear is). And basically repeat the previous steps until you get to the gear and speed you are trying to achieve.
You thought I forgot? The little blue one. This is the hard part to explain. Try not to think of the gears as whole gears. At this part think of them as gears that have two halves. The blue switch is a splitter. It splits the gears closing the large difference between shift points to allow you to catch gears quicker under heavy loads. We are going to assume your splitter is setup for the low side. Your in, say, 1st. the range is down, and the splitter is towards the back. While accelerating flip the splitter forward and KEEP IT IN GEAR AND CONSTANT THROTTLE. As soon as you pull it out of gear and start towards 2nd it is going to split the next gear (2nd) so you will have to give it about half throttle to catch it. Once you got it, and are accelerating, simply pull the splitter backwards and ease off the throttle it will shift into true 2nd gear automatically. It takes a lot of practice to get this down without grindiing. I tell all of my trainees to try to ease their minds when they first start learning "If you cant find it- Grind it" these trannys can take a lot of punishment UNLOADED. If you are loaded, don't try learning. You will certainly tear something up.
I agree with everything you said except the use of the blue deep reduction lever. It's not like a splitter in a 13 or 18 speed. For example lets say you start off in 1st with the blue lever forward (which is deep reduction engaged). You then shift through all 5 gears in the low side(not moving the blue lever, leave it forward). Then, to get out of deep reduction, pull the blue lever back and shift to 4th. That would be around a 30% step, the same as all of the other shifts. If you leave it in 5th and shift out of deep reduction, then you better be going down hill with a tail wind LOL!
How do the wide tires of tractors help them to move through muddy fields?
With wide tires, the weight of the tractor is distributed over more of the ground surface so because of that it doesn't sink into the dirt or mud as much compared to skinnier tires. Plus the tread design helps with traction.
Can you give the shift pattern of a 12 speed eaton fuller?
I've never heard of an Eaton Fuller 12 speed, nor am I able to find any references to one via Google. I've driven Eaton Fuller 8LL, 9 speed, 10 speed, 13 speed, and 18 speed transmissions - could you be thinking of one of these?
IIRC, Volvo marketed a proprietary 12 speed transmission, and Meritor offered a 12 speed automatic, but not Eaton Fuller.
The Power Take-Off is used to provide power to equipment that was not built onto a machine in the factory. The PTO may come in the form of a shaft running off the drive train, a fly-wheel running off the drive train or hydraulic connections, powered by the onboard hydraulic pump.
How much does an empty box weigh?

Can you drive a tractor trailer on public highways without a cdl if it is for personal use?
Only if it's for a purpose in which it can be exempted under the FMCSA, which includes:
In all cases, the exemption applies only when the vehicles are being used for their intended purposes.
Which eaton fuller transmission has only a gear splitter but no high low range selector?
It's known as a "Super 10"
Semi trailer making a proper right turn?
There are a couple of ways, and it all depends on how many other cars are waiting at the intersection. If I approach the intersection, it's a road with one lane going each direction and there's no one there, I get all the way over in the far left edge of my lane. I watch my trailer tandems as I enter the intersection, and when I get them within five feet or so of the corner, I start turning.
If I get a road with two lanes going each direction I do the same thing but it doesn't matter so much who's at the intersection.
If there's someone there, I do a "button hook" turn--wait until the tractor's drive wheels get to the corner, then turn left, then right.
If things are really tight, there's a far easier way. Drive PAST the intersection and make three left turns--lefts are always easier than rights, because you've got more room to do them.
What was the purpose of tractors?

How much weight should a single axle tractor hauling a 26 ft tandem axle trailer be tagged for?
See the related link to "Bridge Formula Weights Calculator". Although a set of tandem axles is allowed 34,000 lbs. on the Interstate, this is reduced when you get below a bridge length of 35 feet between the trailer and drive axles.
If you don't want to measure out your distances between axles, at a minimum, you need to tag it for 67,000 GCWR.
What states allow 57 foot trailers and 53 foot doubles?
I know you can use them in Texas, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, and California But can you use them in Nevada, Oregon or Washington.
Do you need an air brake endorsement to drive an under cdl vehicle in CA?
There is no actual air brake endorsement. On a Commercial Drivers License, you get a restriction placed on CDL licenses if the air brake test isn't taken.
Federal law only places this restriction on commercial vehicles, which includes:
States, however, reserve the right to augment federal law, and your state may require you to take the air brake portion of the CDL test if the vehicle you're operating is used for a commercial purpose. Whether any states actually do this or not, I cannot say offhand, but your final authority on this matter is going to be the California Department of Motor Vehicles (see related link). Those are the people you need to contact for a definitive answer to this question.
What is the value of a 1937 F 20 Farmall tractor?

Where can you find a IT parts manual for a Oakes Rounder L600 skid steer?
There are a few manuals for the L-600 Rounder Skid-steer on Ebay.com. They are priced at $40.00 to $45.00. I have an L-700 Rounder and I was told that there is a comparable Gehl model skid-steer that is very similar. I should probably just pay the $45.00 on Ebay but I am surfing the Net to see if there is a better deal.
Hope this helps.
