i Played tuba last year and when i picked it up for the first time i was supriesed the one i played was a Bb and was full size and was light 15 to 25 pounds at max is my best guess

Blue Lawnchairs:

I've been playing the sousaphone(marching tuba basically) in a marching band for four years and i have a fiberglass sousaphone and it weighs about 15-20 pounds, the brass sousaphones about 20-25 and the silver ones about 30-35 pounds.

the fiberglass is more convenient for carriage. the concert tubas are similar weight, although ive never seen a fiberglass one because brass sounds better and who needs a light tuba when it just sits on the chair.

i have a Bb tuba.
