Turkish is the proper adjective for Turkey.

King Byzas established the colony of Byzantium there, then it was known as Constantinople.

Istanbul Atatürk Airport is the main international airport serving Istanbul, Turkey.

When I went to visit the country Turkey the weather changed. For example on the first day I went it was very hot, the next day it was perfect and it was nice all the time until the day before we left which rained. The day we left it didn't rain, but it was a bit chilly. So the weather isn't hot all the time. But I only visited for one week, so I don't know if it would be hot all the time or normal or cold yearly. I only know for weekly. Oh and if you are going there you have to go paragliding. It is the closest thing you can do to flying probably. When I did it, it was absolutely breath taking! :o)

Weather in winter is cold also if you go to eastern zones you can feel yourself as you went so a Scandinavian country.

Weather is summer is hot and if you go to mediterranean zone you can get sunburned.Also Antalya,Muğla..etc are the best places for summer vacation.

You can have trip to mountains because in Turkey there are many mountains.

Istanbul and Ankara are the most crowded cities.

Although Turkey has a Muslim population of around 98%, the Turkish constitution prohibits any mixing of state and religion (laïcité/secularism). Therefore, Turkey is not an Islamic country (a country that recognizes Islam as a state religion), but it is a Muslim-majority country. Additionally, because of Turkey's economic successes, it is often seen as a leader of the Islamic World, notwithstanding its secularism.

Perhaps you could call them East Mediterranean countries or former Ottoman territories.

You could call them "Middle Eastern countries" but it is questionable whether Greece is a Middle Eastern country.

The capital city of Turkey is Ankara.

It is important to note that Turkey is not divided between Europe and Asia (in terms of subnational regions). The region with the entirety of Europe in it is the Marmara Region which also has areas from northwest Anatolia (with roughly the same area). This region, however, is cultural, as opposed to administrative and therefore has no capital. Istanbul does serve as capital of Istanbul Province, which is on both sides of the Bosporus.

There are a couple of alternatives for happy birthday in Turkish. You can say "mutlu yıllar" "doğum günün kutlu olsun" and "nice yıllara".

When Mustafa Kemal Atatürk founded the Turkish Republic in 1923, he intentionally made the country secular in order to make a clean break for the Islamic government of the Ottoman Empire. It was an authoritarian Kemalist parliament until the mid-1950s when the country opened up to more democratic reforms. By the 1960s, Turkey was truly a secular democracy. However, there is an increasing question over whether the AKP is a religious party and in violation of Turkey's principle of having a secular government.

According to the Royal Mail a standard letter shouldn't take more than 10 days to arrive, but that doesn't take into account the postal service on the other side. Turkish postal service is a lot slower than that in the UK so although your letter may arrive in the country within 10 days it could take an additional 7-14 days before it arrives at the location (depending on how remote the address is.)

However, the Turkish postal service is infamously unreliable and a large proportion of airmail will never make it to the recipient. This is more common with boxed packages than with letters.

Turkey did not exist before World War I, but the country whose territory would become Turkey post-war and was ruled by Turks prior to the war was the OTTOMAN EMPIRE.

Ataturk abolished the religious power of the sultanate, declaring Turkey a secular state, making religious schools and courts illegal. He banned the wearing of the fez and encouraged the wearing of western style dress for both me and women. Compulsory head covering for women was abolished, and western calender introduce to replace the complicated one already in use. He saw that education was the keystone oh his reforms, and made schooling compulsory, at the same time replacing the Arabic script that was in use with the Latin alphabets. He went from village to village with a blackboard and a chalk, teaching the people. He also abolished Islamic Law. These were the qualities of Ataturk which made him a successful leader of Turkey.

Istanbul's districts extend far from the city center along the full length of the Bosphorus (with the Black Sea at top and the Sea of Marmara at bottom).

Turkey did not join WW2 until the very last moment. Thankfully it stayed out of a European problem.
