How long does nausea last when starting Lexapro?

I consulted the Physician's Desk Reference to find my answer. I found no results for "brentellex," but I did find results for the drug "brintellix." If this is not the right drug, then please disregard my answer. According to the side effects section of the article, it states that "Nausea was the most common adverse reaction and its frequency was dose-related (Table 2). It was usually considered mild or moderate in intensity and the median duration was 2 weeks. Nausea was more common in females than males. Nausea most commonly occurred in the first week of BRINTELLIX treatment with 15 to 20% of patients experiencing nausea after 1 to 2 days of treatment. Approximately 10% of patients taking BRINTELLIX 10 mg/day to 20 mg/day had nausea at the end of the 6 to 8 week placebo-controlled studies." If you search for "brintellix" on this site, you will find this section located under section 6.1: "Adverse side effects" on the page's table of contents. This information is not to be taken in replacement of consulting your doctor. I would recommend talking to your doctor for further answers.

Chance of survival at 30 weeks?

Oh, the chances of survival are quite high! At 27 weeks pregnant, your baby has an 85% chance of survival if it were to be born that week! You are nine weeks ahead of that! Your baby's lungs are fully developed at this stage so I wouldn't worry.

What is the conception date if the ultrasound today says the fetus is 8 weeks and 4 days old?

Count back 2 weeks, so 6 weeks and 4 days old. Count back 6 weeks and 4 days old on a calendar and that would be an estimate. Also, check out www.babymed.com, and put in you're due date or you're last LMP and they can tell you an estimate of conception. God Bless

Is an ultrasound dangerous for the baby?

Yes, especially when used unnecessarily. A routine ultrasound usually occur at 3 stages during pregnancy:

1 - Between 7 - 20 weeks of pregnancy, called a Booking scan. This gives an accurate date for due date

2 - 2nd trimester, called Anomaly scan. Mainly to detect gross anomalies, and can further be repeated for a detailed scan if needed. As well as to measure growth. High risk mothers (mothers who have underlying illness - DM, hypertension, etc.) would benefit greatly

3 - 3rd trimester, mainly to assess the growth of the fetus, liquor, determine placenta

It should only be used when necessary. All ultrasound emits soundwave through the skin and muscle, and some may enter the fetus. The energy transmitted can be controlled, however there are some test like Doppler ultrasound that needs even higher emission to view properly. For example, Doppler ultrasound is usually used when a doctor detects the baby is growing not according to plan, and also an important decision marker for early delivery to save the fetus.

Even if the "radiation" doesn't accumulate (like an x-ray does), there are some studies who doubt the benefit of ultrasound for unnecessary purposes. Now with new technologies like 3D imagings used for $$$, even more research is being done to assess the effect of ultrasound to these unborn babies so that technologies are not being abused.

What happens when you skip a heartbeat?

My suggestion if this is happening is to go see your doc. It could be many different things. I have S.V.T. SUPRA VENTRICULAR TACHYCARDIA and my heart skips a few beats at a time and is caused by a hole that goes almost to the noid (?) and when the heart pumps blood it has to fill that up first and the top half of my heart is wanting to pump the blood back and there's nothing for it to pump yet. But go to the doc to get real help A.S.A.P There are many reasons for skipped heart beats and many kinds of skipped heart beats. Some of them don't mean anything, and some of them mean you should get to your doctor soon, and some of them mean you need to call 911. How do you know the difference? If your heart is skipping beats just here and there and not all the time, and it doesn't cause you pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, pressure in or on the chest or clammy sweating then you can call your doctor's office to make an appointment to have it checked out. Maybe you're having a lot of stress, or drank too much caffeine? However, there are other kinds of skipped beats that can cause the heart to do several things, one of which is go into a fatal rhythm and then stop. So if you are having the above mentioned symptoms with the skipped beats, you should call 911 especially if you have chest pain or pressure and/or dizziness and sweating with the skipped beats. Whatever the case, your heart needs to be evaluated by a doctor.

Is it possible to show a baby bump after 3 weeks?

All women are different, and normally there's no rule of thumb as to when they start showing, but I have read a comment somewhere on a pregnancy related website where a woman said she had trouble buttoning up her jeans after 2 weeks...felt like she had put on weight.

At which month can a ultra sound show twins?

The best and most reliable way to confirm a twin or multiple pregnancy is to see it with an ultrasound. An ultrasound is the only guaranteed way to know whether you're carring more than one baby. An ultrasound may be able to detect multiple embryos as early as your third week of pregnancy; However, the ultrasound will be most reliable at detecting a multiple or twin pregnancy at around 6 to 8 weeks.

How much money do sonographers make?

From the research that I've done, I'd estimate that Diagnostic Medical Sonographers/Ultrasound Techs can make anywhere from $30,000-75,000/yr based on education, years of experience, and what setting you're in. A new tech with an associates degree working in a private ob/gyn office would probably start off at $30,000. The same person starting off at a hospital would probably start around $35,000.

How accurate is a sonogram?

A sonogram is 100% accurate, insomuch as it's basically a picture. Interpretations of that picture may vary, and may or may not be accurate, but the sonogram itself is a sounding of whatever is being examined, incapable of being "inaccurate."

Is pregnancy normal if you've had an ultrasound at 3 wks and see no gestational sac?

That sounds perfectly normal. The gestational sac is all that is able to be picked up at this stage. The baby grows within it. By the fifth week, the location of the baby becomes obvious as does the fetal heart.
